As a licensed clinical supervisor and psychologist with 13 years of experience, I have helped countless adults, adolescents, and families across many settings (hospitals, community centers, assessments, forensic). I currently work at UCLA. My clinical expertise is in treating anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, relationship issues, and life transitions. Further, my background as a Chinese Malaysian – who has lived in different parts of the U.S. for almost two decades – has given me a unique perspective on the challenges that immigrants and people of color face. I am fluent in English, Mandarin Chinese, and Cantonese.
As a trauma-informed integrative therapist, I draw techniques from evidence-based practices: Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): exposure therapies, ACT, and DBT. In research, I studied extensively how having a healthy attachment style improves our self-worth and mental health.
One of my biggest joys as a clinician is helping clients become their own therapist and eventually “graduate” from therapy. Change can be scary, but in a safe and supportive environment, we can explore the underlying issues that hold you back, gain insight, and resolve them. Visit my website and schedule a free consult to learn how therapy can help you.
