Phillip Guttmann, LCSW, has been a therapist for 13 years and has worked with a wide array of people. He believes change is possible, particularly in a supportive environment where a trusting dynamic between therapist and client can be achieved. Phillip specializes in supporting individuals navigating anxiety, panic disorder, depression, complex trauma, loss, LGBTQ+ issues, grief, and more. I try to meet each client where they are at and set my tone and style based on what intuitively feels best. In other words, our dynamic will be unique and adjusted to your preferences and comfort level.
I am authentically myself in this process and my aim is that you feel comfortable and safe in our sessions. If you're open to it, I will push gently at times in what I am seeing and hearing and will reflect accordingly. But I always also try to use care in being gentle in this process and worthy of your trust. I'm always open to feedback.
This is a partnership. I can be quiet and hold space to actively listen to you when you want to share and talk but I have no problem being chatty and talking too. So if you're worried about a therapist who doesn't talk - that is definitely not me!
