Hello, I'm Phil Caruso, a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 15 years of experience in psychotherapy. My journey in assisting others has led me to diverse settings, including partial programs, emergency rooms, and the homes of my clients. My training is deeply grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), which I integrate with a Humanistic Counseling approach. This means that I'll assist you in recognizing negative thought patterns and developing skills to tolerate distress, all while maintaining an authentic, supportive, and non-judgmental stance.
I approach therapy with a focus on you, setting clear goals and offering warmth throughout our sessions. While I prioritize establishing a strong connection, my goal-oriented nature means I may challenge you when necessary. I'm transparent in explaining the rationale behind my methods & readily address any questions or concerns you may have along the way.
