I have experience helping transition age and adults develop skills to manage mood and improve relationships. Some of her specialty areas include depression, anxiety, ADHD, and Autism.

I am not currently accepting new clients. I am a health psychologist and work with people who are interested in the health of the mind, body, and spirit. Stress, Anxiety, and Depression are often related to both physical and mental conditions; the whole person responds to treatment. Mood is a function of the mental, physical and spiritual state. Treatments involving all parts of the self are most effective. Also, clients with trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder, and short term issues are the typical client in the practice.

I work with individuals, couples and young adults who might be struggling with anxiety, relationship challenges, trauma, and life transitions. I am a licensed professional counselor, nationally certified counselor, PMH-C perinatal mental health certified specialist (pregnancy & postpartum), and an ADHD-CCSP, ADHD Certified Clinical Services Provider. My approaches are flexible and person specific, but I use client centered therapy, feminist therapy, behavioral neuroscience research, skill building, parts work, and other techniques as needed. I work from a psychotherapeutic perspective grounded in humanistic and modern psychoanalytic practice. I work with individuals to explore their current suffering, symptoms, problems, and relationships and how these themes are related to earlier patterns of experience. My focus is on gaining a deep understanding of the individuals I work with that pays great respect to the person’s unique personality style, cultural differences, differences in sexual orientation and gender experience, and unique relationship patterns.

Dr. Victor H.W. is a specialist in Clinical Psychology and can effectively treat many challenging adult and youth presentations. My approach to treatment is influence by the scientific evidence! With children, adolescents, and adults, I draw from evidence-based treatments that have been proven to work; including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Existential Therapy in addition to traditional talk and play therapies. However, psychotherapy is both an art and science and what works best depends on the person and the problem that the individual or family is facing.
