Aloha! I am a credentialed Art Therapist and Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Hawaii. I have experience working with all ages; children, adolescents, adults and families. Art is a universal language that communicates from the heart. Sometimes there are no words to express what is going on inside of us. The process of creating art provides an image, a piece of the puzzle of our life. When a series of images are put together, they tell a story. Whether the condition is depression or anxiety, a crisis, a traumatic event or a series of events, art therapy becomes a way to process, express and communicate your story.
I encourage exploration with a variety of art media. A person does not need to be artistic because art therapy is not about a finished artwork to hang on the wall. It is about the process of putting on paper what is inside you. My work as an art therapist is to hold space with you and your artwork and walk through the healing process together.
I am sensitive to cultural differences having lived and worked in Taiwan, Hong Kong and China for 25 years. I feel comfortable with people from all cultures and diverse backgrounds.
