Life inevitably involves struggle, pain, and loss. The question is how do we respond to these things so that pain doesn't morph into long-term suffering, and so that meaning, joy, and connection can still be found, even amidst our struggles. That's where I can help. The foundation of my work is building a collaborative and compassionate therapeutic relationship where you feel understood. From there we can begin to craft effective responses to whatever is troubling you: depression, anxiety, trauma, relationships, loss, chronic pain, or more existential concerns about life direction and meaning.
My background is in teaching, holistic health, philosophy, and creative arts. All of these skills and perspectives inform my counseling practice. While my approach is eclectic, solution-focused and mindfulness-based approaches form the core of my work. Special areas of focus include depression, anxiety, pain, life transitions, and psychedelic integration.
My upbringing, education, and many years spent living and working abroad have given me a great appreciation for cultural diversity and sensitivity.
