I am a clinical psychologist working with adults, children, and couples. For over 6 years I have worked with combat veterans and their families. Prior to becoming a psychologist I was in the Marine Corps for 14 years. As therapist, my job is to meet you wherever you are and use my professional training and personal experience to help you move forward in the direction of your choosing to achieve your objectives. My goal is to give you the tools you need so that you don't need me. Therapy is about making you stronger, not making me feel smarter.
I help individuals with PTSD, anger, anxiety, and depression, as well as couples in relationships that are not so much broken, as stuck in negative patterns that rob the couple of closeness and connection. With children and adolescents I help them more effectively manage their emotions and navigate their world.
I strive to help individuals identify and understand thoughts and behaviors that keep them stuck in unhealthy and unsatisfying ways of feeling and being in the world, then work to challenge and reframe these to develop more adaptive alternative beliefs and coping strategies to enjoy more of life again.
