Therapy, as I see it, is a unique relationship between therapist and client involving an emotional, psychological, and often spiritual journey. The therapist accompanies the client on this journey serving as mentor, guide, translator, coach, and confidant. I work to assist you in your journey towards wholeness, success, understanding, and relief from suffering.
My approach to therapy is interactive, supportive, and compassionate. I endeavor to create a free and protected space so that you may safely explore whatever needs to be focused on while honoring your limits and boundaries.
We will work together to access your inner wisdom which will help you to identify your strengths as well as what is not working in your life so that you can create a richer, more fulfilling and satisfying personal and professional relationships. My theoretical orientation is diverse and pragmatic.
I utilize Jungian, Existential, Psychodynamic and Family Systems theories. In addition to my traditional divinity training as a pastoral counselor and minister, I have also practiced Native American ceremonial work, Buddhist meditation and am a third degree black belt in aikido, a martial art devoted to non-violence and the peaceful resolution of conflict.
