I have been interested in working with children & adolescents for most of my life. Helping them to improve their self-esteem, self-worth, & self-love. My training has focused on working with adolescents & young adults experiencing anxiety, depression, social isolation/social anxiety, trauma, autism, ADHD, suicidality, LGBTQIA+ identity and stress/anger. My approach to therapy is relational client centered. I use CBT, DBT, narrative, art, and play therapy, Gestalt Therapy, & I actively work with my clients to select the approach that is a good fit for them. I have a relaxed-humorous yet direct approach to working with clients.
For 2 decades I have been working with sexual assault victims through different organizations in the bay area. I recently became a Certified Rape Crisis Counselor. While I have specialized in working with sexual assault/abuse survivors, I have counseled clients with different types of trauma. Helping clients to process trauma & create new coping techniques.
My goal is to help instill self-empowerment & confidence in clients decision making & in their own intuition. I believe in promoting & nurturing resiliency in youth. I believe to do this you must become a trusted ally with youth and let them lead in the therapeutic process. I look forward to working with you as you begin your journey towards empowerment.
