Developing a trusting relationship is the most important element in successful psychotherapy. We will create a unique relationship that encourages your expression of inner feelings and learning to know what is true for you. I appreciate depth work, and although weekly sessions are beneficial, up to three sessions per week deepens the process.
I frequently work with the following issues: depression, anxiety, relationship problems, disabilities and chronic illness, self-esteem and LGBTQ issues.
I enjoy working with individual adults of all ages and couples. My interest in and study of multiculturalism includes not only an interest in working with people of various ethnicities, but extends to social class, gender identity and disability. I integrate psychodynamic orientation with awareness of diversity, emotions expressed somatically.
My background in sommatics, mindfulness meditation and activism enrich what I bring to the therapy. As a teacher of developing therapists, my thinking about the therapeutic process deepens and I continue learning with and from my students. That teaching process contributes to my work with my own clients.
