Dr. Kawano is a licensed clinical psychologist in both New Jersey and New York. She holds both a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and Master of Science in Clinical Psychology degrees from California Lutheran University, and a Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from the American School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University Orange County.
She has worked with various populations, she specializes in working with adolescents and young adults that struggle with anxiety, depression, substance abuse, trauma, and other sources of distress. She utilizes various therapeutic approaches such as mindfulness, DBT, CBT, EMDR, Schema Therapy and Attachment Based Therapy. Dr. Kawano is fluent in Spanish.
