Therapeutic fit, or how well we “click,” is one of the strongest predictors of successful therapy. In therapy you’ve got to feel able to take risks and be vulnerable. I am a certified Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP) and have expertise with EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and other somatic and body-based modalities. Through these approaches, it is possible to experience relief and long lasting change in symptoms resulting from depression, anxiety, large and small-scale traumatic experiences, complex PTSD, grief, addictive patterns, and codependency.
You can find immediate relief within the first few sessions. Processing trauma and building new habits can take a longer amount of time. 12-16 sessions is a reasonable expectation to see real movement towards your goals.
I work with adults, teens, and families. I believe the strength of the relationship we form together can create a ripple effect of healing in your relationships outside of the therapy room. I will walk with you as you remember your authentic self and reclaim your power over the present.
