As a sociologist, I help you analyze your relationships and life experience, and coach you through strategies that create desired change.
Would you like to understand yourself, or your relationships, better? Do you have a need for clear direction? insight on your journey? Would you like to change your life? attract the people, knowledge and things you need? accomplish your dreams? experience greater happiness? get rid of annoying habits and fears? live with less stress? Let me help you bloom to your full potential. I do not label or use a "medical model." As an interfaith minister, I provide holistic spiritual counseling, and/or hypnotherapy or intuitive guidance, that is respectful of your spiritual (or non-spiritual) perspective.

My clients describe me as warm, compassionate and supportive. Our first steps will be creating a space where you feel safe. The therapy process is then guided by your needs and preferences. Together we will explore the issues that have brought you to therapy. Difficulties in life are normal. You are not alone. And you will have me by your side as we figure out what feels right for you, and what are the best ways for you to achieve your goals.

I can help you find clarity in your life’s purpose.
Your anxiety is always present, and depression is a constant visitor, yet, energy and motivation rarely exist. You instinctively understand that society's rules are not always relevant; at the same time, it is hard to decide what is important and how to find your life's purpose, especially with unrealistic media expectations. You worry about money, the future, and the carbon footprint. You have difficulty with challenging conversations and making meaningful relationships. It is hard for you to keep up with the demands of life, keep things organized and workable, and find a healthy balance in life.

I have over twenty years of experience working with people, 18-elders. I believe that therapy is an adventure, where one chooses to go, regardless of not knowing the way. Through the relationship this awareness is brought together by truth, compassion, humor, and some pain. The therapist serves as a guide, modeling and teaching the individual a more effective way of living. I see the individual as someone with a whole life that exists beyond the therapy session. The relationship, which fosters hope is a non-judgmental environment, that underlies all the work that is undertaken.

To help others, I believe that three traits are essential: competence, caring, and integrity. I continuously hone my competence by updating my skills and keeping up with developments in my field. In addition, I put a strong emphasis on personal growth and cultivating my relationships with others, believing that by living a full and meaningful life, I have more to offer my clients. I care deeply about my clients, admire their strengths, cheer their victories, and resonate with their disappointments. In terms of integrity, I commit to an approach that is kind, straight-forward,and respectful.

I work with a diverse population of individuals and families in addressing abuse, trauma, and major life changes.
Hello my name is Cheryl Foxworth. I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and AAMFT Approved Supervisor in Pennsylvania. For over 20-years I have worked with families in distress. I believe that most often the negative experiences we have in childhood corrupts our true sense of being. These early childhood issues often results in a disconnect with our true self. How tragic this can be but there is hope. I would love to think that "What does not kill us will only make us stronger. " This is a quote from philosopher Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche that has become my personal mantra. We must learn how to live beyond our hurt....

Life has its ups and downs, and how we face them makes all the difference.
Starting to process your own story is a brave step. It can be daunting to explore challenging life seasons and open chapters we've closed off for self-protection. Confronting childhood or generational experiences is tough, and we often turn to coping mechanisms like addiction or unhealthy relationships. You deserve a life that excites you every morning. How can I help you on this journey? Let's work together to heal, understand your past, and find healthier ways to cope, so you can embrace a renewed and fulfilling life.

For the past six years, I have offered coaching and group therapy to parents and grandparents of children on the autism spectrum.
Psychotherapy helps you see yourself, and your world, in a new way. I am passionate about helping my clients to discover what make them feel truly alive, and I view my role as helping clients to identify the ideas or relationships that stifle that power. My style is compassionate and interactive, fully appreciating the courage it takes to engage in psychotherapy, while helping you make room for new possibilities to unfold. I look forward to working with you!

You are the expert of your own life, and my goal is to use that expertise to become your best self.
Seeking therapy can be incredibly difficult. Many of us blindly navigate life with conflicts that we relate to the now instead of understanding our pasts. I understand the stigma placed on mental health, but also aim to work at your speed to make this a comfortable experience. During this therapeutic journey, you are making a choice to begin your true healing process with a dedicated guide. My style is person-centered and interactive, which aims to allow your authentic self to emerge.

Life Coaching Therapists

What can I expect from life coaching?

Clients and coaches will typically start by identifying the problem area(s) that the client hopes to address—then, the coach will help the client brainstorm potential solutions and explore concrete techniques to help the client attain their goals. Coaching is typically short-term and focused on finding solutions in the here and now, rather than exploring a client’s past. In addition to strategies aimed at the client’s specific concerns, coaches may encourage general stress management techniques such as meditation.

Can a life coach help treat anxiety?

Because the majority of life coaches are not licensed clinicians, they are not qualified to diagnose or treat anxiety. Anyone struggling with anxiety or another mental health condition should seek help from a licensed mental health practitioner. However, some coaching clients who struggle with subclinical anxiety report that working with their coach on other problems—such as career dissatisfaction or unhealthy habits—has a positive effect on their anxiety.

Can life coaching be done online?

Yes. While life coaching often happens in person, many coaches conduct sessions over the phone or via online platforms such as Zoom or Skype. Because life coaches are not subject to local licensing regulations in the same way that therapists are, they are able to see clients who live in other locations.

How long does life coaching last?

Life coaching tends to be a shorter-term process than therapy, though it does not always unfold over a specific period of time and is instead based on the coach’s or the client’s preferences. Coaching often takes place over three to 12 months but may be shorter or longer if necessary.
