My passion is working with children, adolescents, and families. I use play therapy techniques to help work through and process emotions. Thoughts and emotions guide behavior. I like to focus on changing thought processes to help individuals better manage their emotions and stressors. I have experience working with anxiety, depression, ADHD, behavioral disorders, anger management, parenting, adjustment disorders, self-injurious behaviors, and suicidal ideation.

I have a passion for working with those who feel lost, stressed, or weighed down by anxiety. I love exploring meaning behind both the big and small moments in life, and discovering how my clients can use that meaning to propel themselves forward. I use my knowledge of psychology and neuroscience to help clients understand the source of their anxiety and stress, and my background in religious studies for clients who want to be propelled by their spirituality. My goal is for my clients to walk away with a better understanding of where they feelings come from, and how to reign them in.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, a Certified Advanced Drug and Alcohol Counselor and a Substance Abuse Professional with over 30 years of experience in behavior healthcare. I provide a full array of behavioral health services based upon cognitive behavioral theory to individuals, couples and families. I strongly believe in an interactive, non-directive, non-judgmental approach to counseling. I can provide you with the tools and information that will assist you to develop healthy self-care skills thereby promoting growth.

The stories that we tell about ourselves and our experiences are our realities, and these realities shape how we perceive our past, current, and future experiences in our lives. Sometimes, these stories do not allow us to feel the level of happiness and fulfillment in which we desire due to problems dominating our stories. It is my goal to support individuals, families, couples, and groups in developing a sense of hope and possibility that were not previously there. This hope provides space for unique possible outcomes where these individuals can develop a story that includes happiness and life fulfillment.
