My therapy style is to create a safe space focused on acceptance, respect and authenticity. I know that there is no single approach to therapy so I work collaboratively with each individual to find the best approach.

We started this practice because we love what we do, helping people grow. Here at Blue Creek, we offer individual, couples and family therapy. We serve children, teens, adults and older adults. In addition, we offer comprehensive psychological testing services. We bring decades of collective experience but have different areas of expertise. However, our one common goal is for you to feel welcomed and understood from the moment you make contact.

Life can be hard. Much like our physical health, our mental, emotional and spiritual health are vulnerable to stress. I'm trained to develop collaborative relationships built on trust and mutual respect to assist you in living a happier, more satisfying life. Combining your strengths with my skill and support, we'll nurture understanding and insight of self, and assist in creating new solutions and coping skills. I work well helping people with trauma, anxiety, panic, grief, depression, marriage and relationship stress, spiritual concerns, and adjusting to life transitions.

Through my practice, You First Counseling, I help motivated individuals work through anxiety, perfectionism, grief, gender dysphoria, relational issues, trauma symptoms, and more. But to work on those things, I'm finding that people need space to fully (for at least one hour) put themselves first; to know that their time is theirs, and to have someone help hold their struggles.

I am here to offer supportive/empathic counseling services in collaboration with adolescents, adults and families who've experienced a series of adverse life events. My belief is that people do the best they can to heal. Life can be challenging and I want to support you and understand things from your perspective. What happened? My goal is to offer a safe space for you to freely express who you are, share your life experiences and to support you as you own your truth. Something happened, life became complicated and hard to deal with alone. You've been trying to manage on your own but it’s been difficult. I'm here to support you.

Navigating our worlds can be really challenging these days. Day to day life can be complex enough, but when additional stressors appear, things can get really difficult. Sometimes it is really helpful to have someone with a calm and quiet presence, and a couple decades of skilled practice outside of your normal life to talk to when things get overwhelming. Sometimes they will express their distress through thoughts of suicide or self-harm. Young adults can struggle with transitioning from high school to college, work life, and adulting in this stressful world. As a parent, you want to support your teens and young adults through all of these issues. I enjoy working with clients with many different types of concerns or areas in which they would like to grow. I have been working with children, teenagers, adults, couples, and families since 2007. I tailor my treatment approach to each client and I believe that each client is an expert on themselves. I have assisted clients with many different reasons for coming into counseling, and only some of those topics are highlighted here.

I believe individuals of all ages deserve to experience peace and wholeness, and should not feel as though they are "stuck" in their life circumstances. I desire for clients to feel safe and known in my presence, and for them to sense I am honored to hear their stories. I am passionate about coming alongside individuals in the midst of their pain, and assisting them, with compassion, in their unique journeys towards renewed freedom and healing. No matter one's age or presenting issue, I enjoy creating realistic goals to work on in the therapeutic process, as well as creating a genuine connection and alliance.

My approach is warm, relational, and integrative. I strive to offer a space where you can feel safe enough to look inward – to gently and compassionately welcome all parts of yourself with less judgment and shame.

I am accepting clients ranging from fourteen years of age and older. I work with individuals, families, and couples. Although I have experience treating an eclectic range of concerns, ideally, my clients may be facing symptoms of anxiety, depression, substance misuse, and PTSD. I have great expertise in treating dually-diagnosed clients, substance misuse, and mental health. The stress and hardships that come with these issues are often too much to handle on your own; please let me help.

Mental health, addiction, and chronic illness all have something in common. They can be debilitating and create cyclical habits that are difficult to break. I work with motivated individuals who are willing to make a change in their lives for the better, examine their past and present experiences and feelings, and work to find healthier ways to cope.

My ideal client would be someone motivated to engage in motivational interviewing and change work.

We are seeing a lot of people with anxiety, trauma, and/or depression. We have a variety of counselors who can help you learn how to manage your situation and feel better and offer play therapy for children or relationship help if you are looking to improve your communitcation skills.
