I am trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Family Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, and Trauma Informed Care.
It is exhausting to feel disconnected, overwhelmed, or like you’re walking on eggshells with people you love. It is miserable to feel like you’re just faking it every day, not liking yourself, or not knowing how to manage your depression, anxiety, or trauma. I provide my clients with the care, guidance, and support they need to make positive change and feel better. My approach is non-judgmental and grounded in respect. I work collaboratively with each client to understand their unique situation, struggles, and goals; working to develop the tools needed to improve relationships - including their relationship with themself.

My specialties include marital and pre-marital therapy, parenting, trauma therapies, (EMDR and Brain-Spotting), DBT, enneagram type, and a fusion of spiritual/Christian/Biblical perspectives and traditional therapy that is available to the patient as appropriate.
Having extensive experience, I use empirically supported therapies, and have treated a wide range of ages as well as the most serious disorders. It is my belief that salient therapy treats a client in 3 different directions: top-down (spiritual dimension), inside out (healing of memories), and outside-in (Cognitive-Behavioral and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy). After a thorough assessment, I would identify with my client, determine problems on which to work, set appropriate goals, and determine the correct therapeutic intervention(s) to be used. Meeting those goals would be a therapeutic benchmark throughout the therapy.

I integrate Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing and Humanistic Therapy approaches into my work.
People enter therapy at all levels of readiness for change. While some people are ready for immediate change, others need time to process their readiness. Ambivalence is understandable in a client's journey. My non-judgmental approach helps clients explore potential barriers to change in order to help them make positive life choices. The therapeutic alliance is absolutely central to the work that is done and the outcomes that are achieved. I create an environment that allows safety, promotes a sense of compassion and empathy and fosters trust. When the therapeutic relationship is strong, clients are empowered to work towards change.

You will learn to manage uncomfortable feelings using strategies from CBT, DBT, and ACT.
Life is never the same after the loss of a loved one; it rattles you to your core. You struggle to regain your balance and grapple with the incomparable pain you feel. You don’t know how to carry on now that your beloved family member, spouse, friend, or pet is gone. They were such a meaningful part of your life and made you so happy. Now, their absence feels like a piece of you has been ripped away. You’re so disoriented from the loss that you keep thinking to yourself, “This isn’t real. They can’t be gone.”

I use an integrated-approach to help build a strong therapeutic relationship along with using evidence-based treatments (EMDR, DBT, and CBT) to meet each client's unique needs.
I believe one of the most courageous things you can do is begin to understand your own story. It can be scary to open up about your experiences, especially to a stranger. I want to break the mental health stigma by creating a safe and comfortable space to talk about your life experiences through providing authenticity, compassion, acceptance and humor! Getting a better understanding of your story and life experiences will help identify what may be keeping you from moving forward and will allow us to work together to get you on the path to living the life you want.

Not accepting new clients
I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), DBT, IFS, EMDR, TF-CBT, Brainspotting, and Dr.
I work with clients who want to break negative cycles, set healthier boundaries, increase confidence in decision-making, and embrace their authentic selves. I specialize in treating anxiety, trauma, and emotional abuse/neglect. My clients oftentimes make the decision to come to therapy when existing coping skills fail, and they're left feeling "stuck", "trapped", and "alone" in their experiences and shame-spirals. That's where I come in! I support clients with processing past hurts, establishing realistic goals, recognizing barriers, and introducing helpful techniques to move forward in a way that feels safe and supportive.

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused and Mindfulness.
Feeling stuck and wondering why? Or what you can do about it? Let’s work together to identify your goals and create a path towards them. Along the way we will work on self-acceptance, self-love and developing an understanding of all spheres of yourself. My ideal client struggles to find their words, has difficulties describing what’s happening to them, and often needs validation and acceptance. All stressors, regardless of intensity, can leave us feeling powerless and hopeless as they accumulate. Sometimes people fall short and are not sure why, working with a therapist can help you understand what might be getting in your way.

I utilize EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), somatic therapy, and attachment theory.
You find yourself feeling overwhelmed by life and your emotions. Maybe you have turned to substances, food or relationships to ease the pain. You have lost trust in yourself and others. Do you struggle setting boundaries, people-pleasing or perfectionism? I help people find relief from the effects of trauma and growing up in a dysfunctional family system. Together we will identify and heal the parts of you blocking your authentic self. Sometimes talk therapy isn't enough. I have specialized training in body-based techniques to help you learn how to balance your nervous system and feel more embodied.

I believe in providing intervention for clients and families that is purposeful. This means the client will be taught to understand what they need to do to reach their goals. This includes understanding the complexity of their emotional distress, obtaining skills and strategies, and getting feedback and support on applying these strategies effectively.

On the surface, things are going well, but you constantly feel anxious or overwhelmed. Work, children, marriage, "life"- just keeps piling up, which is keeping you anxious, depressed, stressed, etc. So, how are you coping with these uncomfortable feelings? Just to name a few...is it substance use, isolation, overworking, avoidance, irritability, people pleasing? You are not alone, but it is time to find a healthy way to cope. You need to prioritize yourself and recognize something needs to change. After all, "nothing changes if nothing changes". Therapy is not something to dread, we can have fun and grow simultaneously.

My therapeutic philosophy really lies in the belief that the client is the expert of their lives and I am walking beside them to help create safety. Once they feel safe in all their uncomfortable places, we can begin to be curious about the experiences of life. We can begin to fill those spaces with healthy energy and love. The journey can be arduous and it can also be fun. This is why I am here. To be with you through it all.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT) Therapists

Who is DBT for?

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is designed for people who experience extreme emotional suffering because they lack the skills of emotion regulation and distress tolerance. The basic affliction can underlie a wide range of conditions, from borderline and other personality disorders to PTSD and treatment-resistant anxiety and depression. The therapy is helpful to those whose emotional reactivity is so intense it is disruptive to everyday functioning and leads to frequent crises.

Why do people need DBT?

The ability to regulate emotions is a core psychological skill that enables people to function in life and pay attention to the world outside themselves; it is consistently associated with well-being. DBT is designed to help people learn how to manage and regulate their emotions. Originally developed to treat people with borderline personality disorder whose extreme emotional suffering led to self-harming behavior and suicide attempts, the therapy is now applied to other conditions involving emotion dysregulation, particularly when other treatments have failed.

What happens in DBT?

Individuals meet weekly with their therapist to discuss their experiences relating to moods, behavior, and skills. Using checklists they maintain, they review emotional experiences and positive practices they engage in. The diaries help individuals discern what led up to a specific problem encountered, this is followed by discussion of the consequences of their actions. In addition, individuals may meet in class-like small groups to learn skills such as mindfulness, emotion regulation and distress tolerance.

How long does DBT last?

Because it is intended to establish long-lasting behavioral change among those with persistent problems, DBT is designed to last six months to a year. DBT includes both weekly sessions of individual therapy and weekly skills-training sessions conducted in small groups. Studies of DBT have documented improvement within a year of treatment, particularly in controlling self-harmful behavior; nevertheless, individuals may require therapy for several years.
