I have been professionally trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) as well as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR) and I am working towards full certification for both of these evidence-based interventions.
When we are on our way towards healing, we may face many roadblocks: past trauma, invalidating environments, our views of ourselves, among many others. While we are hard-wired to heal, it can be hard to do so when there are many factors getting in the way of our journey towards peace. Maybe standard talk therapy or CBT has not been helpful for you in the past, and you feel stuck. My passion is working with survivors of trauma or chronically invalidating environments who hope to build a life worth living.

I utilize a CBT and DBT approach but believe therapy is very person-specific and will tailor our sessions to fit your specific needs.
Hi ya’ll, I’m Chris. The state of the world and our own well-being can often feel very fragile, especially after these last few years. Through counseling I am able to provide an outlet for processing your emotions and actions and finding a way to unstick yourself when you don’t like where you are. Therapy can be a frightening step for many, but I hope to make your journey to a healthier mindset as comfortable and rewarding as possible. My clinical experience and education are focused on working with those who struggle with severe depression and anxiety.

I have specialized training in EMDR, CBT, DBT, and Solution-Focused therapy.
I believe everyone possesses a set of skills and strengths to navigate through life's ups and downs. Unfortunately, life happens and sometimes it may become harder to access or see your strengths. As your therapist I'm here to help aid you through your journey of healing, while helping you to access and gain more strengths to meet your goals. I don't believe therapy should be treated with a one-size-fits-all approach. Instead, I take the time to listen and understand the uniqueness of your personal experiences. As a therapist I take a person-centered approach and meet you where you are.

I assist clients in identifying the tools they have learned throughout their lifetime and help them to make goal oriented changes through a mixture of cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy and person-centered approaches.
Starting your therapeutic journey can be both overwhelming and exciting. As an individual, it may be scary to open up, challenge yourself, and commit to change. As a parent, it can be hard to know when the right time is to begin therapy for your child. One thing I know to be true is that each and every person is unique, and is capable of growth, happiness and emotional wellness. I enjoy working with clients from late childhood through adulthood and love helping clients who are new to therapy understand the therapeutic process, create goals, and empower themselves to live their best life.

I am also knowledgeable in DBT and CBT.
I believe therapy is most effective when the clinician presents themselves as the client does-a person with a unique past and personality. When you take out a therapist’s humanity and lived experience, there is no true therapeutic connection and trust from the client. That’s why I strive to be both a person and therapist through my conversational, authentic, and collaborative style. I am experienced in serving those with chronic mental health issues including anxiety, depression, PTSD, borderline personality disorder, bipolar disorder, psychotic disorders, psychosomatic symptoms, and somatic disorders.

I use a variety of evidence-based modalities including CBT, DBT, IPT, BA and mindfulness.
It is powerful, life changing and brave when we take steps toward understanding ourselves and how we interact with the world around us. At first this can sound daunting but with a solid set of tools and healthy introspection and exploration, this is a superpower. This is where our freedom lies. Things in life are often not clearly delineated. Oftentimes, we judge ourselves harshly and feel like we can’t move ahead. In therapy, we will work collaboratively to help you weather life's ups and downs while developing self-compassion.

My advanced training includes Gestalt, DBT, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Addiction/Recovery, and Dual Diagnosis.
**At this time I am not taking new clients.** Hello! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and I provide treatment for adults who are experiencing overwhelming emotions, a sense of feeling lost or stuck, or simply trying to learn more about their true self. I am interested in hearing your story. Together we can explore and discover your emotions at a deeper level, which will ultimately allow you to form more meaningful, loving relationships. Working collaboratively, in a non-judging atmosphere, we will build awareness of patterns that may be blocking you from reaching your full potential.

I know scrolling through Psychology Today profiles can be frustrating, and challenging. Making sense of all of the therapy terms and acronyms, (oh so many of those!) can be exhausting. Assessing and finding your therapist 'fit' shouldn't be impossible. All of us have strengths, and the ability to feel joy. The path to change is often marked with unknown barriers and systemic trauma. My aim is to help others identify interpersonal and systemic barriers standing in the way of growth. I am trauma informed, and an ACES DV survivor and advocate. I work hard to provide a safe space to grow the therapist client alliance.
