You’ve gotten this far because your behaviors or beliefs provided a sense of safety and self-regulation at one point. Some of them may not work anymore or they’re no longer serving you in the way you want, so let’s work on meeting your needs in a different way. On top of doing trauma work, reframing negative thoughts, and giving you realistic coping skills, I put a large emphasis on educating you so you better understand why you are struggling with the things that cause you distress. I find that providing you with this type of knowledge is a form of empowerment!

Are you feeling overwhelmed or overworked? Are you taking on the emotions or wellbeing of others and ending up exhausted? Do you have trouble connecting to your feelings? Even when you do, it’s hard to pinpoint what they are? If you’re feeling depleted from working hard, keeping everything together, then this is the perfect time to change the relationship with yourself and others. This might mean addressing traumatic and/or distressing experiences, working through grief, exploring relational and attachment difficulties, or managing anxiety or depressive symptoms differently.

Starting any journey can be challenging, we can sometimes talk ourselves out of it before we even begin. Being unsure is okay, stepping into something new with questions is a healthy coping mechanism. Being uncomfortable and pushing through is a signal that you want a shift. Together we can work on coming up with answers to some of the questions and concerns that you have been grappling with. I seek to provide a safe environment where you can explore those parts of yourself that you have previously shied away from that are keeping you from re-writing your story. Welcome fellow warriors! As a therapist, a unique factor of supporting individuals, couples, and families is their lived experience. There are clients, who's religious trauma or bombardment of specific roles assigned by family, has left them feeling lost. This lack of identity, increases comparing self to others more than appreciating one’s own talents. Negative self-talk impacts one’s ability to truly believe in themselves, so having the opportunity to process, the origination of false narratives is key. Learning self-compassion allows old behaviors to be sympathized with, instead of scolded so as to rewrite new narratives. As client advocate, I will use the therapeutic space to provide the patience needed, to unpack past hurt, and explore future possibilities.

No matter what challenge you are facing, making the decision to enter therapy is one of the most important steps we can take on the path to healing. I do not believe any of us were born to suffer. I seek to help my clients find the opportunities for growth that our challenges present us with. While I support my clients to learn to sit with and accept that difficult emotions are a part of living, I also help clients to identify where unnecessary suffering is created by limited beliefs and self concepts. By resolving unhealed traumas and the burdens of the past, we can experience a more wholehearted, joyful life.

Are you feeling overwhelmed, stressed or anxious? Through stress management, identity exploration, mindfulness, and active listening, I hope that I can help you to understand yourself better, love yourself more and manage your feelings and behaviors better. I use a combination of counseling, art therapy, play therapy, and pet therapy(depending on interest and age) to help you to be comfortable with the person that you are instead of the person you think you should be.

It is hard being a person. We often engage in patterns of feeling, thought and action that reliably lead to suffering. These patterns arise in response to difficult and even traumatic experiences. They made good sense at some point, but now get in the way, causing anxiety, depression, shame and frustration. I work with people to bring increased awareness to the human potential caught up in old patterns, and via that awareness, to an enhanced sense of choice and self confidence and ease. My work draws on your wisdom, as well as my own.

I think of therapy as a space where we can explore not only what is difficult or distressing, but also what is joyful, connective, warm, and creative. I believe that noticing what goes unspoken is just as important as recognizing the patterns in your life, and that not-knowing is just as valuable as curiosity. While I work with clients of all identities and areas of concern, I have a specific background in working with people under the LGBTQ+ umbrella, people exploring their relationships to their bodies, people who are neurodivergent and/or disabled, and people with complex, intergenerational, and/or cultural trauma histories.

I am a psychotherapist who practices through a unique lens. First, I am a relational therapist. I create deeply compassionate and loving intimate relationships (that are ethically boundaried) with my clients so the safety exists to form a collaborative approach to their inner world. I practice with an emphasis on understanding the neuroscience behind human behavior to help clients rewire their neural pathways that were created in childhood & that lead to their discomfort of their symptomatology. I work with adults on issues related to trauma, anxiety, depression, sex and relationships, identity issues, loss, and suicidal ideations.
