Over the course of life, we accumulate hurts and wounds that impact how we function in our day to day lives. We can feel flooded by a range of difficult, often overpowering thoughts & emotions. We also can experience challenges in our relationships as well as in our efforts to process and respond to overwhelming life events. Integrating experiential aspects of Internal Family Systems (IFS), mindfulness, and somatic therapies along with relational/attachment-based therapy, I will partner with you to help you locate and strengthen your inner resources of healing and resilience.

Are you looking for a radical therapist with a sense of humor to support you and someone you care about in navigating an interpersonal issue? Would you like to develop a more loving and understanding relationship with all of your parts? I don't believe anything works for every client but I find myself using the Internal Family Systems (IFS) model of therapy the most often. Most importantly, I strive to create a therapeutic environment that feels accepting and nonjudgmental without compromising opportunities for growth and expanded possibilities.

With 25 years of experience in behavior health services, I can create a compassionate and supportive environment to begin working with parts of you that have become stuck by using psychodynamic and trauma-focused approaches such as EMDR therapy, internal family systems (IFS), ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, (KAP), motivational interviewing, and mindfulness.
Many of us may become stuck at different stages in our lives for myriad reasons. Its possible you may or may not be aware of what events may have led to this which can manifest in mental health and/or substance use difficulties. Examples range from traumatic events such as abuse, neglect, and death of loved ones; oft under-emphasized circumstances such as daily stress, breakups, life changes/transitions, and loss of employment; or broader systemic issues such as racism, poverty, and other types of discrimination. If you are looking to identify the stuck parts to help all of you move forward, this is a good place to start.

My practice blends Internal Family Systems, Mindfulness, and Somatic approaches.
Many of us were conditioned into survival strategies that separate us from ourselves due to living and being raised inside oppressive structures and dynamics. This separation can create the belief that there is something wrong with us, as though we are unworthy or unlovable, leading to cycles of shame, numbing, anger, fear, and grief. I seek to create a space for compassion and curiosity that allows these feelings to be explored and held. This process can help us to move beyond stagnant patterns of hurt that limit our growth, potential, and love. It can help us make more conscious choices on how we wish to engage with life.

I use an integrative model in my work that emphasizes psychodynamic and relational elements, as well as attachment-based therapy, cognitive behavior therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, family systems therapy, and exposure therapy.
I love to offer my clients a reflective listening ear and a holding space that truly feels warm, affirming, and safe. I think in that safety is where the depth of the work can happen, and change becomes possible. I believe that clients have an innate sense of strength that can be channelled through psychotherapy. I work with teens and adults on a variety of issues that expand from trauma and mood disorders, to anxiety, grief, OCD, and eating disorders. I hope that through our work together that I will be able to gain deeper insights into who you are, and what your struggles might be, and share those insights with you.

I primarily draw from Internal Family Systems, Narrative, & Gottman therapies in my work, as well as specializing in working with LGBTQ+ clients.
My clients come to me because they want to deepen and strengthen their relationships - not just with each other, but with themselves. They want to understand the family and societal systems that shaped them into who they are today, and to heal old wounds and trauma so that they can move forward from a place of strength, healing, and connection. Many of my clients exist at the intersection of multiple marginalized identities, and have struggled to find a therapist who will understand and not further stigmatize their identities, and who is committed to unlearning systems of oppression. I seek to provide a healing space for them.

My work focuses on promoting deeper wellness and combines Internal Family Systems frameworks, mindfulness based practices, and ACT.
On the surface everything is “fine” but underneath is there an inner critic that rails against you all day? You want to unload your shame and anxiety, but not sure how? As an Asian-American therapist who sees the therapeutic relationship as a powerful instrument of change, I see therapy as a sacred site to bear witness to and support the whole person lingering in and around the thresholds of life. It’s a space where you are seen and accepted for who you are, where we can safely untangle generational wounds, shame, perfectionism, internalized invisibility, and find the courage to explore, learn, and tend to the messiness of life.

Using attachment frameworks, Internal Family Systems, EMDR, and somatic approaches, I support people in coming home to their bodies and emotional selves, and in creating brave relationships in which they are witnessed deeply and meaningfully, to restore them to their agency and security, and empowering them to live their lives more fully.
I work with people to help them explore, understand, and heal from the ways life has left its imprints upon them— be that from trauma, oppression, or simply the complexity of our messy and beautiful interconnectedness with each other. My approach is creative, humorous and relational. It is rooted in values of anti-oppression, abolitionism + transformative justice, and harm reduction.

Do you wonder if childhood wounds are impacting you in the present? Are you experiencing chronic anxiety or low mood, relationship difficulties, or problems managing your emotions? I help clients build self awareness and improve their relationships with themselves and others through self acceptance, self compassion, and letting go of patterns that no longer serve them. I use Internal Family Systems to support clients in gaining awareness of their interior landscape and healing parts of themselves that carry earlier wounds and false beliefs. I also am trained in CBT, DBT and mindfulness informed and humanistic approaches.

As a family systems trained therapist, I view all of my clients through the lens of Systems Theory and their Family of Origin.
Seeking help is a sign of strength and health, not weakness or shame. You have a story and it matters. As an experienced mental health therapist, I feel honored to listen to your story and work together toward change and healing. My style is very warm, supportive, emotions-focused and collaborative. I place the utmost importance on developing a strong, trusting therapeutic relationship. Most often I work with individuals affected by issues of depression, anxiety, trauma, identity/self-esteem, attachment and relationship issues. I also help clients with other challenges including grief, self-harm, and chronic health issues.

I am trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS) and EMDR and integrate these models for powerful trauma processing and self-exploration.
I work with clients struggling with depression, anxiety, PTSD, life transitions, and relationship issues. I understand how trauma, childhood attachment, family of origin dynamics, and harm within our social/cultural/political systems underly many of these struggles. And I know how these painful experiences can disconnect you from yourself, your loved ones, and the joys of life. Together, we will explore the patterns that keep you stuck, understand their roots, and learn new ways of navigating life's challenges. Our work will help you restore a sense of agency and reconnection to your authentic, grounded Self that's innate to us all.

Family Systems Therapists
Family Systems therapists view problems within the family as the result not of particular members' behaviors, but of the family's group dynamic. The family is seen as a complex system having its own language, roles, rules, beliefs, needs and patterns. The therapist helps each individual member understand how their childhood family operated, their role in that system, and how that experience has shaped their role in the current family.
