I specialize in anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, eating concerns, relationship issues, college/grad school/career concerns, and the impacts of oppression on our mental health.
Your healing and wholeness are important. Sometimes relationships can hurt us, sometimes trauma harms us, and the very act of living in this world can cause pain. And sometimes, we are trying the best we can to cope and survive. I believing healing is possible for all of us. I approach therapy from a place that affirms and honors your whole self. I will empower you and hold space for you as you face what has been painful, unlearn patterns that no longer serve you, and honor your needs. As a licensed clinical psychologist, I treat a wide range of mental health concerns, and I provide support to individuals, families, and couples.

I love to offer my clients a reflective listening ear and a holding space that truly feels warm, affirming, and safe. I think in that safety is where the depth of the work can happen, and change becomes possible. I believe that clients have an innate sense of strength that can be channelled through psychotherapy. I work with teens and adults on a variety of issues that expand from trauma and mood disorders, to anxiety, grief, OCD, and eating disorders. I hope that through our work together that I will be able to gain deeper insights into who you are, and what your struggles might be, and share those insights with you.

I understand that all life milestones have a sense of grief to them, and support is needed.
Hello! Looking for a therapist can be a daunting process, and searching for one means that you’re one step closer to working with the therapist who is right for you. I feel honored that I may be an option as a therapist to support you. Therapy can be helpful for navigating the ups and downs of life, and processing internal thoughts in an unbiased atmosphere. It’s normal to have emotions, and to explore them without judgement. I have experience working with clients of all ages, and understand how challenges can impact each person differently depending on their own experiences and circumstances.

I view presenting issues contextually exploring individual, familial (values, patterns, intergenerational loss/trauma), and societal factors (often systems of oppression) that are causing or contributing to those issues.
I am a systemically trained and licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (in PA and CA) offering virtual individual, couple, and family therapy. My clients seek support around a myriad of concerns - most common among them are: depression, anxiety, loss, attachment trauma, oppression-based trauma, identity exploration/conflict, racial identity, family/relational conflict, and emotional dysregulation. Clients come to me to deconstruct beliefs about themselves and the world that are no longer serving them and instead creating chaos, dysfunction, and pain. Through our work together, they're able to live more fulfilling lives.

I believe in a strengths-based approach to treatment, which means I start by working to understand who my client is, what their concerns/goals are, and how they can best be approached. This allows me to collaborate with my clients to develop effective coping skills for substance use, anxiety, depression, adjustment to aging, grief, relationship stress and boundary setting, or reactions to trauma. I also have experience with queer populations (LGBTQ+). I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Pennsylvania with 10 years of professional experience in nonprofit and an additional 5 years in therapy practice.

I am a licensed clinical psychologist located near Rittenhouse Square. While I have experience with a wide range of issues, I am especially skilled in working with depression, anxiety, loneliness, loss, shame, and sexual and gender identity concerns. My approach to treatment is relational and psychodynamic. This means that I strive to maintain a strong focus on the relationship—both the therapeutic and real, human relationship—between the client and me. I have worked extensively in trauma healing, crisis, and grief recovery in many international settings.
Your counseling is a time for personal growth that requires a collaborative relationship between the client and the therapist, and the creation of a "safe" atmosphere that is based on trust, warmth, and genuineness. I tailor my approach to each client's goals, and use techniques that have been shown to be effective. In general, we will work together to establish your goals for counseling and I will suggest the use of an appropriate therapeutic approach. In addition, I will use a variety of techniques and tools that you can use to achieve your therapeutic goals.

I work with individuals who are navigating difficult seasons of life, seeking support in processing painful events and challenges and in finding the best next steps to take. I assist clients with adjustment to stressors and life transitions, depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, postpartum depression, grief and loss, self-criticism, shame and self-doubt. My greatest passion in this work is helping clients to identify their strengths, recognize their own worth and develop a stronger and more compassionate sense of self. In doing this, it becomes easier for clients to process pain, learn new skills and pursue their goals.

Grief Therapists

How long does therapy take for grief?

There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?

Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?

Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?

Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
