You will learn to manage uncomfortable feelings using strategies from CBT, DBT, and ACT.
Life is never the same after the loss of a loved one; it rattles you to your core. You struggle to regain your balance and grapple with the incomparable pain you feel. You don’t know how to carry on now that your beloved family member, spouse, friend, or pet is gone. They were such a meaningful part of your life and made you so happy. Now, their absence feels like a piece of you has been ripped away. You’re so disoriented from the loss that you keep thinking to yourself, “This isn’t real. They can’t be gone.”

I offer therapy through a DBT and CBT perspective.
My ideal client is seeking therapy to become the best version of themselves. They would be committed to treatment and be willing to put in the work in and outside of therapy.

I use cognitive behavioral therapy, psychoanalysis, and dialectical behavioral therapy practices with an integrative approach to highlight autonomy and your strengths through motivational interviewing and mindfulness work.
Within the safe space we create, we will collaborate to identify and explore your concerns, creating goals for the future, and finding your strength to achieve these goals. Whether it's trauma, anxiety, depression, relationships, or grief, I believe that integrating therapeutic modalities with a personable and tailored approach, can help us find what works best for you in your journey to heal and grow. As a mental health advocate, I greatly admire vulnerability in the face of stigma and value the opportunity to explore your needs. It is a privilege to be part of your healing process.

I use CBT, DBT, and Solution Focused work, using mindfulness, breathing techniques, visualization, and goal setting to help clients reach their short and long-term goals.
My ideal client is someone who comes to therapy in a time of need. They might be experiencing anxiety due to life changes and transitions or they might be experiencing symptoms of anxiety for the first time and be concerned as to where the anxiety came from. The client might be processing loss or grief from a loved one or past friendships and or relationships. My ideal client will have needs such as needing to identify coping skills to get through life stressors, assistance with reaching goals. As a therapist I would be able to provide the client with a objective perspective to bounce their ideas and situations off of.

I frequently utilize concepts from Attachment Theory, Phase-Oriented Trauma Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Cognitive and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy.
I specialize in working with clients who have experienced childhood trauma, domestic/intimate partner violence or relationship challenges, chronic pain/illness, and substance use issues. I also appreciate the beautiful tangents, metaphors, and insights from my work with neurodiverse clients. Much of my work focused on helping clients examine how trauma has shaped their lives, decisions, & current circumstances and find ways to heal. Finding meaning and insight from the connections and patterns we can see in the past and present is key to informing the work we can do together to pursue a more intentional and satisfying future.

I practice through a psychodynamic framework with applied MI, CBT, and DBT intervention techniques.
My ideal client is one with motivation for self-care, openness to change, and a desire to learn more about themselves and others. My ideal population consists of adults with a mental health diagnosis of anxiety, depression, PTSD, substance use disorder, and other increasingly complex diagnoses. However, I am also devoted to assisting those seeking help without a defined diagnosis and who are beginning therapy without a clear vision of treatment needs. I welcome working with anyone who may benefit from my skillset who is dealing with life’s many challenges and searching for a clearer definition and understanding of their stressors.

My approach integrates person-centered, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), & Solution-Focused Therapy.
Are you struggling with depression, anxiety, past traumatic experiences, and currently feeling stuck in life? Do you need help managing these emotions to move forward in a more meaningful and productive life? Your goals would be to process these emotions and learn how your thoughts influence your feelings and, ultimately, your behavior. Additionally, you will learn coping skills to manage and/or reduce the debilitating effects of these emotions.

I use a strengths-based, psychodynamic approach and incorporate motivational interviewing, CBT, DBT, mindfulness and Internal Family Systems based on each clients' need.
Are you in your 20's and having difficulty coping with the complexities of life? Therapy is an amazingly powerful tool to create tangible change in young people's lives, but it is important to find a relatable therapist who doesn't treat 18-30 year olds with the same frames and modalities that are used for younger kids or their parents. I am a licensed LCSW who has been working with young adults in schools and in private practice for almost 20 years. My entire career is focused on helping young adults and their families through life's biggest challenges.

I am trained in DBT & MI and am currently completing my EMDR training.
My ideal population is adults struggling with anxiety, depression, PTSD, stress, or substance use - however I believe that everyone deserves to have a therapist who is dedicated to them, and I would never turn away a client unless their needs were out of my scope of practice. My ideal client is someone who is motivated for therapy and is willing to learn.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT) Therapists
Who is DBT for?
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is designed for people who experience extreme emotional suffering because they lack the skills of emotion regulation and distress tolerance. The basic affliction can underlie a wide range of conditions, from borderline and other personality disorders to PTSD and treatment-resistant anxiety and depression. The therapy is helpful to those whose emotional reactivity is so intense it is disruptive to everyday functioning and leads to frequent crises.
Why do people need DBT?
The ability to regulate emotions is a core psychological skill that enables people to function in life and pay attention to the world outside themselves; it is consistently associated with well-being. DBT is designed to help people learn how to manage and regulate their emotions. Originally developed to treat people with borderline personality disorder whose extreme emotional suffering led to self-harming behavior and suicide attempts, the therapy is now applied to other conditions involving emotion dysregulation, particularly when other treatments have failed.
What happens in DBT?
Individuals meet weekly with their therapist to discuss their experiences relating to moods, behavior, and skills. Using checklists they maintain, they review emotional experiences and positive practices they engage in. The diaries help individuals discern what led up to a specific problem encountered, this is followed by discussion of the consequences of their actions. In addition, individuals may meet in class-like small groups to learn skills such as mindfulness, emotion regulation and distress tolerance.
How long does DBT last?
Because it is intended to establish long-lasting behavioral change among those with persistent problems, DBT is designed to last six months to a year. DBT includes both weekly sessions of individual therapy and weekly skills-training sessions conducted in small groups. Studies of DBT have documented improvement within a year of treatment, particularly in controlling self-harmful behavior; nevertheless, individuals may require therapy for several years.
