I have current openings! We often get advice like “Suck it up”, “Get over it already”, “It’s not that bad”. But, remember, you don’t have to suffer in silence or go it alone. Everyone experiences difficulties. But, sometimes life can feel overwhelming. We can be really hard on ourselves when we just can't get to feeling better, and I would love to help!

I primarily use EMDR to treat adverse life events and trauma and The Gottman Method to treat discord within a relationship.
All of our life experiences shape us into the people we become, however, at one point or another in most of our lives, we question the direction that we are going and if our lives are as joyful and enriched as possible. Through self-exploration and addressing unresolved problems, individuals can take control of their futures. Let’s talk about that process!

I currently practice mostly CBT & DBT modalities, and am working towards my EMDR cert.
Immediate Thursday and Friday daytime availability! Deciding to go to therapy can be uncomfortable, and I am so glad that you are here. To me, the most important part of therapy is creating a trusting relationship with your therapist. My goal is to create a safe space for you to share and be vulnerable, all while learning to grow and change. Therapy is so much more than just talking, and it is my hope that in working with me you will be able to become comfortable with being uncomfortable, build a skill set to cope with thoughts and feelings, and to learn to apply those skills to your everyday life.

Swearing is allowed! I utilize talk therapy, EMDR, somatic work, and Internal Family Systems (IFS).
I work with women who struggle with blended high/low self esteem. To the outside world, we are successful and have our shit together. Except we are masters at hiding pain. Inside, we have a black hole filled with guilt, shame, and feeling unworthy. We feel stress managing family, life, career, relationships, and don't feel good enough. We carry trauma in our bodies and it shows up in our daily life. From a young age, we learned self betrayal was pivotal to be worthy of love and to feel good enough. We didn't have a voice. My focus is repairing the damage due to past experiences and how it’s created a critical view to our own self.

I have clinicial training and experience in EMDR, Flash, and Inner Healing Prayer, which are some of the ways your trauma and pain can be addressed.
Many of my clients come to their first appointment wanting to make changes in their lives and relationships but are waking up every day with same unhealthy patterns that keep them stuck. Difficulty regulating their emotions - they are angry, irritable, and lashing out. People-pleasing. Stuffing and numbing their feelings. A lifetime of trying to get difficult people to be good to them. Feeling sad, panicky and out of control. Find their identity in others and feel as if they have lost themselves. Worries and negative looping thoughts such as "I am a bad person; The world feels unsafe; It's all my fault."

EMDR Therapists
Who is EMDR for?
EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.
Why do people need EMDR?
People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.
What problems does EMDR treat?
First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.
What happens in EMDR therapy?
First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
