With over 30 years of clinical practice, extensive continuing education, and an emphasis on what works rather than on what’s wrong, I tailor my approach to the specific needs of each individual, couple, family, and group for whom I provide service. Using proven methods, I am able to offer, among others, supportive, interactional, brief problem-solving, cognitive-behavioral, including trauma focused cognitive-behavioral, and relational psychotherapies. Common themes among my clients are concerns related to relationship difficulties, bereavement, mood disorders including depression, anxiety, childhood behavioral problems, eating disorders, compulsive and additive behaviors, and difficulties related to specific life circumstances.

I am a fully licensed Marriage & Family Therapist providing therapy for individuals, couples, and families. It is my life's passion to see marriages and families thrive and survive the obstacles that come their way such as: relationship difficulties (i.e. marital conflicts, parenting, in-laws), stress, and anxiety. I offer classes and marriage retreats on various topics like communication, sex, and forgiveness as well as premarital counseling.

I have worked in many areas of both Mental Health and Addictions treatment. I am trained in a variety of evidence based methods. I am confident I can help a wide variety of individuals and families with the stressors they face today. I enjoy pulling from my teachings and training to keep up with the best practice methods to help people to the best of my ability. Debra Thompson-Knepper has over 20 years experience working with people who have mental illness and addictions.
