Everyone has a lens through which we view the world created by our unique experiences, struggles, triumphs, and diverse cultural languages, but so often we feel as if we lack the voice to express our true selves and needs to others. We struggle to find the courage to live authentically in a world that often doesn’t understand or validate our humanity, empathy, and sense of self. As we find self-empowerment, we can come together to empower our families, communities, and ultimately our world as a united whole to meet the challenges we face as human beings. Dr. Jaime Friedman is the Director and owner at Aspire Child & Family Services. The main focus of the practice is Intensive behavioral health services (Applied Behavior Analysis or ABA) for children with Autism. Behavior specialists and behavior technicians are available to work one on one with children in their home, school, and/or community settings. Patients with chronic symptoms are often told by doctors that there is nothing wrong with them, or that they "just have to live with it." Parents are told that they should wait for their child to "outgrow it." Those answers are dismissive and inadequate. I welcome those with the kind of frustrating, persistent symptoms which have not been resolved with standard medical care alone, and those who wish to enhance their medical care with directed mind-body techniques. Please be aware that I am NOT a psychotherapist or psychiatrist and that I do NOT prescribe antidepressants or do psychiatric medication management.

Having had the experience of working with people of all walks in life, one of my favorite parts of counseling is getting to know you as a person, the whole you! My goal in counseling is to work with each individual to help connect their mind-body-spirit (as you define it) in helping them to improve their overall wellness. The joy of counseling is finding what works for you which is why I tailor counseling to each individual, while working to help you identify your own strengths that can help you overcome the challenges that life has to offer.

Everyone can use an objective voice to help them work out what is going on in their lives. Sometimes relief can begin just by deciding that a little help won’t hurt. “Beneath every behavior there is a feeling. And beneath each feeling is a need. And when we meet that need rather than focus on the behavior, we begin to deal with the cause, not the symptom” (Ashleigh Warner). This is my philosophy for counseling. I have done work with children/adolescents and their families. Mental health concerns manifest differently in children/teens than they do in adults, and I know what to look for and how to help find the skills to help.
