I am an integrative psychologist who works from an interpersonal-feminist lens.
One of my core beliefs as a therapist is that there is power and healing in our human connections, in the words and lived experiences we share with one another. Therapy is a space for you to share your story and your experiences, and for us to work together to identify and address your unique needs. I work collaboratively with my clients to create this space and foster growth through warmth, humor, vulnerability, authenticity, and the relationship we build together. My goal is to create a space that is safe and supportive of your whole self and embraces all of your identities.

I strive to make therapy a safe space that is customized to fit your needs. I utilize various techniques from different types of therapy based on your personal story and experiences. Maybe you experienced some trauma and you need help finding your way through it. You want to find ways to alleviate stress, or need to resolve some concerns that you can't seem to get past. You want someone to help you set achievable goals, find yourself, or get out of that funk you've been stuck in. You're coming out of a difficult relationship or you are wondering if it's time to leave. Let me help you create a better tomorrow.

The funny thing about life's hurts, they generally do not just get better on their own. Running from a problem is a race we will never win. My goal is to create a warm safe and relaxed place for you to explore, to discuss, to learn and maybe laugh. The outcome is for you to feel empowered in your life and to have HOPE. Changing or healing often require learning new skills so my approach is as much about coaching as it is about counseling. My primary counseling modes are Cognitive Dissonance and Reframing and REBT (Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy). Together we create the tools for HOPE that are custom made for you.

You have already taken the first step toward a healthier version of you, by searching for support. Finding the right therapist is important, so that you are as comfortable as possible through your treatment. I use an integrative approach in talking with people to help them find their way through difficult times, not a "one size fits all" style. Each client is unique and valued. Through this process, strategies for managing your challenges will be developed in a supportive environment without judgment. The goals of treatment include stabilization of symptoms so that your length of stay is no longer than necessary.

My approach is integrative - everyone deserves an individualized plan to support their goals and healing.
I’m glad you found my page! My name is Sage (they/them). Have you ever felt outcast from those around you, or less than others based on the intersectionality of your identities and how you present yourself? You may feel that nobody will understand that coming out later in life is possible- you are not alone. As a non-binary, pan, ace, neurodivergent and disabled therapist, I have lived experience with where you are right now. When you come to see me, you will be met with non-judgment, empathy, understanding, and compassion. You are always welcome to come as you are. Outside the zoom room I love nature, dance, and fostering animals!

I am trained in nutritional and integrative medicine for mental health.
I believe that mental healthal involves approaching healing from the perspective of body, mind and spirit, and I try to address emotional healing from an integrative perspective that looks at the whole person. In addition to sharing and processing emotion, we may also explore thoughts, lifestyle, relationships, faith, and nutrition. My areas of special interest include grief, anxiety, depression, self awareness and personal growth at a deep level. If you are interested in incorporating Christian faith into the healing process, know that we will develop a therapeutic approach that aligns with mental and spiritual well being.

Integrative Therapists

What is integrative therapy?

Integrative therapy is a type of therapy that combines ideas and techniques from different therapeutic approaches depending on the needs of the individual client. By merging elements of different treatments, an integrative therapist aims to offer a more flexible approach than those who practice just one type of therapy.

How does integrative therapy work?

Integrative therapy approaches a client’s mental, physical, and emotional health in a holistic way to discover the sources of their unhealthy behavior patterns or other challenges and considers the approach most likely to lead to improvement. Among the techniques an integrative therapist may practice are cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, EMDR, mindfulness, art or music therapy, psychodynamic therapy, breathwork, family systems therapy, gestalt therapy, and trauma-informed therapy. An integrative therapist regularly evaluates the client’s progress and is prepared to pivot to a different approach if progress stalls.

How long does integrative therapy last?

As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for integrative therapy; people who find they are making progress typically continue until they feel they’ve addressed the issues that spurred them to seek treatment. New patients should understand that it may take some time for a therapist to land on a treatment approach that best meets their needs, but once they do, they should expect sessions to extend for a number of months, typically including at least 12 sessions.

How effective is integrative therapy?

There are hundreds of types of talk therapy, and research shows that while they vary in form, goals, and frequency, many if not all can produce similarly successful outcomes. But a single approach does not always deliver the greatest, or speediest, benefit, and so even therapists primarily trained in one model will use tools, language, techniques, or exercises from others to shape an effective treatment plan.
