I have over 14 years experience in helping individuals navigate difficult emotions and life experiences.
Trauma and anxiety can lock you into painful and unhealthy patterns that can make you feel helpless. Those feelings don't need to have control; by strengthening your relationship with yourself, you can unlock your strengths and see where your thoughts and feelings aren't serving you. It is my goal to offer you a space in sessions where you can feel heard, understood and connected. We will work together to identify and overcome unhelpful patterns that have been built to protect and navigate you through difficult situations but are no longer needed.

My experience centers around those needing help with anxiety, including OCD, depression, and management of life transitions, both teens and adults.
Sometimes when we struggle, we need help finding the strategies to move forward. Perhaps you are overwhelmed with anxiety, worry, loss or sadness. Maybe you are feeling the pressure to be perfect; in your job, as a parent, friend or even when you think about your appearance. What you seek is relief from this constant pressure. Therapy offers you the opportunity to explore where you are, and then take steps, at your own pace, to establish a healthy balance. You don't have to go this alone. In therapy we will explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviors, and together, with compassion, help you find the balance you looking to find.

You have recognized a need for change so I commend you and welcome you to my profile. My personal philosophy is the most important skill in life is the ability to ask for help. Although viewed as a weakness, asking for help generates success. The most successful people in life have a team of people that help with their decision making. The president has a cabinet, the CEO of a fortune 500 company has a board of directors. I am here to be that person to help create change and a positive outlook or whatever it is you are looking for.

You can find meaning and balance in your life, even when the demands feel overwhelming.
You spend so much energy taking care of others, it's hard to think about making time for yourself. Feeling stressed or sad has started to feel like your "normal" instead of just a bad day. You feel anxious or angry sometimes, and you're not sure why. Maybe life has started to feel like a chore – you’re doing everything you can and it still doesn’t feel like enough. It's harder to connect with the parts of life that used to be meaningful, and that can feel really lonely.

You deserve to live life with less triggers, less worry and sadness, and less hopelessness.
I am a trauma therapist with 10 years experience. I can help you learn how to cope with the pain, confusion, anxiety, fear, anger and depression people with trauma often experience. You may not be sure how to resolve trauma and PTSD or where to start. Sometimes when we’ve been through difficult experiences, life becomes so overwhelming that we need help figuring it all out. I can help. I can help through support, education about trauma, and meaningful treatment that helps you feel better.

I will often utilize and draw from personal life experiences in these areas to make a positive connection with children and youth.
My ideal clients are those who are experiencing difficulties with blended family issues, adolescent development, trauma, grief and loss, separation and divorce. My role as a therapist is to facilitate a process of healing by partnering with each client. I believe it is essential to listen carefully to an individual, couple or family and develop a partnership that combines my training and experience as a practitioner with each persons unique capacity for healing and growth. Most importantly, the objective of intervention and caring is promoting the family's ability to support the passions and interests that exist in each individual.

I provide individual, group and family therapy as well as coaching for loved ones.
I specialize in Adolescent treatment and Women's trauma. I have been working in mental health and addictions with adolescents and adults for over twelve years. I have experience in outpatient and residential settings and I'm skilled to work with complex issues. When someone asks me what I do, I have a difficult time boiling it down. More recently, I've come to realize that I help individuals and families in crisis. I work with the whole family, either in or out of my office and I help clients address core issues standing in the way of health, success and happiness.

For over 15 years I’ve worked with people who struggle with anxiety, depression, grief, and difficult life transitions.
The phrase “too much” continues to run through your head. Too many people are asking too much of you, your time, your energy. The demands leave you overwhelmed and anxious, maybe a little crabby. Worse, there is the nagging sense that others “get it” and that you’re not only tired, but also alone; it really is too much. As hard as your experience has been – connecting, parenting, partnering, working – having a companion on this part of your journey will make carrying the load easier. You know what you love, what is important to you, let’s work together to figure out how best to get you closer to what you care about most.

In addition, we’ll collaborate to enact tangible changes in your day-to-day life that support your growth and healing.
Do you feel like your emotions get the best of you? Do you wonder why things get under your skin and pull you into a spiral, even if part of you knows it's not rational? Do you live your life trying to avoid anxiety or sadness? Does self-criticism or feelings of worthlessness keep you stuck feeling like you're not who you'd like to be? Maybe you want to finally stop trying to run from your feelings and want to learn how to express them. Maybe your comfort zone has become stifling and you're ready to be break free.

For over 35 years, I have helped people of all ages to ease their burdens, face doubt and overcome emotional afflictions with warmth, empathy, and safety. I believe compassion is the cornerstone of a trusting relationship. More recently I have been guiding people to happier, more meaningful lives and relationships by focusing on their often unrealized strengths to facilitate change, have them live more consciously, and become who they want to be.

I will help you find the strengths that will enable you to move forward and live a more fulfilling life.
My strengths lie in helping individuals identify those intrusive and often irrational thoughts that interfere with their ability to live a fulfilling life. Often this leads to anxiety and a feeling of being "stuck" and of not getting anywhere. We too often learn to live with the issues that "plague" us. I have found that most people simply want peace, love and happiness in their lives, with a bit of joy from time to time.

Life Coaching Therapists

What can I expect from life coaching?

Clients and coaches will typically start by identifying the problem area(s) that the client hopes to address—then, the coach will help the client brainstorm potential solutions and explore concrete techniques to help the client attain their goals. Coaching is typically short-term and focused on finding solutions in the here and now, rather than exploring a client’s past. In addition to strategies aimed at the client’s specific concerns, coaches may encourage general stress management techniques such as meditation.

Can a life coach help treat anxiety?

Because the majority of life coaches are not licensed clinicians, they are not qualified to diagnose or treat anxiety. Anyone struggling with anxiety or another mental health condition should seek help from a licensed mental health practitioner. However, some coaching clients who struggle with subclinical anxiety report that working with their coach on other problems—such as career dissatisfaction or unhealthy habits—has a positive effect on their anxiety.

Can life coaching be done online?

Yes. While life coaching often happens in person, many coaches conduct sessions over the phone or via online platforms such as Zoom or Skype. Because life coaches are not subject to local licensing regulations in the same way that therapists are, they are able to see clients who live in other locations.

How long does life coaching last?

Life coaching tends to be a shorter-term process than therapy, though it does not always unfold over a specific period of time and is instead based on the coach’s or the client’s preferences. Coaching often takes place over three to 12 months but may be shorter or longer if necessary.
