Whether through talk therapy (Mindfulness Based CBT and ACT), parts work (Internal Family Systems), or more experiential approaches like music, Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), or Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), we’ll find tools that work best for you.
Are you struggling with anxiety, OCD, body image, disordered eating or perfectionism? I specialize in working with adults and young adults who are ready to explore the roots of their challenges and motivated to dive into their personal growth journey. Together, we’ll process your past, uncover the patterns that have shaped your behaviors and thoughts, and address how perfectionism manifests in your life. I love working with clients who are ready to take action and apply strategies for meaningful change. If you're motivated to reflect and committed to practicing new skills between sessions, together we can create lasting progress.

With a trauma-focused lens, I integrate IFS, Gestalt, mindful self-compassion, and mindfulness techniques.
ATTN: Out of Office and will not respond until 10/21/24. If you’re feeling stuck—knowing what’s hard but unsure how to break through—you're not alone. Whether you're grappling with trauma, anxiety, or the lasting effects of sexual or domestic abuse, it’s normal to feel uncertain about the next step. Therapy can be a safe and powerful space to unpack these struggles, find clarity, and learn how to move forward in a way that feels right for you. Together, we will empower you, helping you take control of your life and build deeper, more meaningful connections—with yourself, others, and the world.

I use family systems concepts to illuminate and improve relational patterns.
Have you "disappeared" in order to be in a relationship? Do you feel "selfish" considering your own needs and wants? Would you like to stand up for yourself AND still be in relationship? Is the phrase, "I matter, too," one you want to believe? If so, the time has come to create effective ways to move into relationship with Self and Others. The truth is that each of us matters equally. When we live from a place of mutual importance, we honor boundaries, make decisions for ourselves, and are responsible for the only person we can truly manage, our self.

Opt for evidence-based, cutting edge individual or group therapy based on The Hakomi Method, Gestalt, IFS, Jungian Tarot—or even Quantum Touch and shamanic energy healing if you’d like.
“I love my therapist, but we’ve hit a plateau,” potential clients often say when reaching out to me. Or they’re tired of being treated like they’re broken. If you’ve spent years in therapy and are ready to go deeper and experience profound shifts and lasting change, try mindfulness-based, somatic (body-mind) psychotherapy and inner parts work. In short time, most new clients say, “Wow, that was very different from what I expected!”—in a positive way. If you’re a highly sensitive person (HSP), empath, or old soul yearning to be truly understood and are ready to process more deeply and talk and analyze less, welcome!

Stumbling blocks....this is a way to describe some of the patterns and responses we can get caught up in over time that hinder us from fulfillment and joy. We all have them and they can show up in our relationships, at work, as parents, with our family of origin and with ourselves. In my therapy practice, we unpack our maladaptive tendencies and their roots to fully understand what holds us back or doesn't serve us. We then learn new ways of being and determine what is within in our power to change. This shifts those stumbling blocks to stairways.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapists

What is Internal Family Systems therapy?

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a type of talk therapy that focuses on sub-personalities, or “families,” within a person, which may be made up of wounded parts and unpleasant emotions like anger and shame. These sub-personalities can come into conflict with each other and with an individual’s core Self, leaving the person feeling detached from positive traits such as the “8 C’s” of confidence, calmness, creativity, clarity, curiosity, courage, compassion, and connectedness. By healing a patient’s wounded parts, a therapist aims to restore balance and bring on positive change.

How does Internal Family Systems therapy work?

An IFS therapist will work with a patient to identify their particular sub-personalities, recognize the emotions powering them, and release them. By doing so, the patient should become more able to address any underlying problems their sub-personalities may have been trying to protect them from. Ultimately, a patient discovers ways to manage internal and external conflicts on their own, through techniques such as relaxation exercises, journaling, and making charts depicting the relationships between their core Self and their distinct parts.

Does Internal Family Systems therapy work?

IFS therapy has been shown to help people address conditions such as depression, anxiety, panic, fears and phobias, trauma, and substance use disorders. Some research has also found that it can help individuals deal with symptoms of physical health conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, such as pain, everyday functioning, depressive feelings, and low self-compassion. There are some conditions for which IFS treatment, specifically discussions of one’s “parts,” may be less appropriate, such as schizophrenia or other states that involve psychosis or paranoia.

How long does Internal Family Systems therapy take?

As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for IFS therapy. After becoming comfortable with a therapist and the core concepts of IFS, some patients quickly make progress. While experiences vary, most will find that it is a relatively longer-term therapy, involving months and sometimes years of sessions.
