Primarily, I work with adults, couples, teens and families.
Currently accepting NEW clients! I believe that you are already capable of change- and I am passionate about guiding you through stepping into it. I specialize in anxiety and relationships. Much of my work has been in treating anxious individuals who struggle with worry, self-doubt, and "analysis paralysis". I can help you recognize what is interfering with your daily life, relationships and overall well-being and adopt healthier belief systems. I am also especially passionate about helping couples recognize the "stuck points" in their communication patterns and replace them with with vulnerability, closeness, and connection.

You're feeling lost, anxious, overwhelmed. You've lost trust or confidence in yourself. You're dealing with an issue that seems bigger than you can handle alone, whether it's related to work, family, or school. Maybe you've been drinking a bit too much lately. Maybe you've been suspecting you have ADHD, Autism or are neurodivergent. At the end of the day, you want to build a life of peace and meaning and you need some help navigating the way. I've been there, and I'd love to help.

Personal difficulties that cannot not easily be dealt with on our own are a common problem that can be resolved with help of an experienced therapist. Issues related to trauma, early life experiences, troubled relationships, self esteem, anxiety and depression can be dealt with in a safe and discreet manner. The roots of many client issues stem from experiences suppressed into the unconscious mind. The 'talking cure' facilitates the release of deeply supressed feelings into the client's consciousness and understanding. The resulting new-found knowledge enables the client to live a more productive and happier life.

Are you an adolescent or young adult feeling like your world is spiraling? Maybe your light doesn't feel quite as bright as it did before. You don't want to spend time with friends like you used to, instead wanting to stay home in your pj's all day. Something is off even if you can't pinpoint what yet. You want to feel like yourself again.

At this time I only have appointments available from 10am to 4pm. Do you feel "stuck" or find yourself thinking "I should have it together by now" ? I work with individuals navigating life transitions and the additional mental health strains they may cause. Whether that be an adolescent in high school preparing for college, an individual in college struggling to decide their major, or a parent navigating their child moving out or wanting to change careers. All of these experiences can lead to increased anxiety or lack of satisfaction within your life which can lead to feelings of depression.

I also have experience using play therapy techniques when working with adolescent individuals.
As a therapist, everyone can benefit from having someone to talk to. Whether that be processing life stressors, loss, anxiety, depression, and everything in between. My role is to create a safe, comfortable space that promotes collaboration and honors all identities and genders. I also honor and respect the connection between the mind, body, and spirit. While I work with all individuals, I have extensive experience working with adolescents and teens, specifically processing grief and challenging life transitions. I am also vastly trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).

Teen Therapists

What does therapy for teenagers look like?

When a therapist works with a teenager, the pair will talk about what the teen is struggling with and explore solutions, which may involve interpersonal skills, coping strategies, medication, or lifestyle changes related to sleep, diet, and exercise. Different therapists employ different modalities, but most involve a combination of conversation and skill building.

How long does therapy for teenagers generally take to work?

There’s variability in teenagers’ experiences and challenges; some may begin to improve from therapy within a few weeks while others may take several months or longer. Teens can discuss their progress with their therapist periodically to assess how they’re improving and any changes to the treatment plan that could potentially accelerate that progress.

How do you encourage a teenager to go to therapy?

It’s helpful to express your concern and love while framing therapy as an opportunity to explore a tool that could help improve their life; just like they practice baseball or dance, now they can practice their emotional skills. Give your teen control over the process where you can—maybe by weighing in on choice of therapist and signaling that therapy involves confidentiality, so a parent need not know all that is discussed in sessions.

How do you prepare teens for therapy?

You can prepare your teenager for therapy by describing what the process will look like and setting expectations for timeline, if requested. You can explain that the first session may begin with an assessment phase, that they can describe their experiences but that the therapist will ask questions too, and that it may take time to feel comfortable opening up. Ask how they’re feeling about the process and answer any questions calmly and supportively.
