Maternal Mental health (pregnancy, pregnancy loss, infertility, postpartum depression and anxiety) has been an interest of mine.
An ideal client for me is one who is looking for some direction. They are open to trying suggested coping skills or ways of thinking and perhaps just need some empathy, reassurance and professional insight in order to move forward in their lives or even to move in a new direction.

I believe it is important to realize therapy is different for everyone because everyone's story is unique. The most vital part of therapy is to meet clients where they are in life and to go at their pace. I strive to provide a safe and nonjudgmental space for my clients to process their story. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques to help each client to rewire the mind and how they perceive their world. In addition, I use love, empathy and compassion, which I feel has the hugest impact. I want everyone to know it is okay to feel whatever you feel.

Grief work can include support for trauma, and the opportunity to develop practices and rituals to honor our loved ones and remember to take care of ourselves amid great despair.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the states of Pennsylvania and New Jersey as well as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in the state of California. I recognize that for some researching a counselor and entering therapy can feel like a big step and I look forward to connecting. Grief work is my passion and an area of great interest. I also work with clients who are navigating career stress, anxiety, life changes, and more. My goal is to meet you with care, compassion, and support, and to create a place to process and honor your experiences. I believe that it is possible to hold both pain and joy.

Grief is akin to praise; it is how the soul recounts the depth to which someone has touched our lives.” Loss intersects with many challenging life events, extending beyond death to include breakups, career shifts, exploration of gender and identity, estrangement, and more. I hold the belief that everyone requires support at times, and it takes a whole lot to seek it out. I understand the discomfort of vulnerability, yet it's precisely why I engage in this work. I recognize the challenges but also the potential for fostering deeper connections and a more fulfilling existence.

Grief Therapists

How long does therapy take for grief?

There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?

Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?

Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?

Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
