Do you wonder if your presence really matters? Is it easy for you to extend grace and compassion to those around you, but difficult to do the same for yourself? Maybe you long to be truly known and loved as your authentic self, but vulnerability scares you or you don’t even know how to begin. And maybe you aren’t even sure who you really are. Therapy creates a space where you can ask questions, get curious, and more deeply learn about yourself, giving you the power to make choices that set the course for a more fulfilling life.

Over my 30 years of experience, I have seen that when clients reach out for therapy, it is a sign of strength and a willingness to change. I view counseling as a partnership between the client and myself, and help each client learn a new skill set that enables them to grow through life's challenges. I provide a non-judgmental and calming environment, with a focus on mindfulness. A holistic approach is used, which recognizes the importance of addressing body, mind, emotions, and spirit in order to achieve and maintain health. I am a safe, neutral sounding board for clients, which allows them to learn, grow, and heal.

I am a National Certified Counselor with my masters degree in clinical Mental health counseling. I utilize an eclectic approach to therapy, as I believe therapy is not a one size fits all service; different people heal in different ways. My approaches include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person Centered Therapy, Strength Based Therapy, DBT techniques, and ABA techniques. I work with anxiety disorders, depression disorders, ADD/ADHD, childhood trauma, and Autism Spectrum Disorders.

Are you or your child struggling to overcome challenges and truly enjoy life? Growing up can be tough. I am passionate about working with children, adolescents, and young adults as they navigate life transitions, social conflicts, and big emotions. I value the relationship within the therapeutic experience as much as I value your story! I provide a nonjudgmental space as it is the building block to promote healing. I provide marital and relationship therapy utilizing assessments and interventions from Gottman's Theory. This therapy focuses on tools and exercises to strengthen marriages and relationships. Our Gottman work will provide a mechanism for deeper understanding. This may include building the friendship within your marital relationship or reflecting on past attachments from childhood. Does it feel like chaos is all around you? Are you struggling to keep it all together? Have you tried solving the problems in your life and it's just not working? Do you feel lost and overwhelmed and not sure where to turn? Have you tried everything you can think of and still feel stuck? Now more than ever, people are feeling anxious and uncertain about life and how to navigate all it requires. Not addressing your feelings can lead to health difficulties, increased fatigue, and less life enjoyment. I believe there is hope.

" I have a strong background in working with Aspergers as well female medical conditions that impact mental health functioning.
I have over 20 years of experience providing mental health therapy to individual's, couples, and families. I believe that you should not be in therapy for years, but should be quickly making the changes in your life to get you out of therapy. The goal of therapy is to help you to determine what those changes are and then to help you take the necessary steps to make those changes.

Life's challenges can seem so overwhelming at times that we lose sight of our inner strength. Together, we will nurture and rebuild that strength so that life can feel good again! Imagine the life of a seed - buried beneath the dark, lonely, constricting soil. If the seed considered its future, it would feel bleak and hopeless. Yet within that seed lies the unseen power to break through the soil with strength and grace. We are in many ways, just like that seed - full of potential! Whether you are seeking help for your child or yourself - I am here for you. Just as importantly, I will be here to encourage you with a caring heart!

Is there an anxious voice in your head that sometimes speaks at full volume? Do you feel alone, uncertain, or "less than"? Or maybe you feel like you just can't stay on top of your life. You procrastinate and only get things done by self-medicating with panic? You may have habits you don't feel good about... you overeat, shop too much, spend countless hours online or in front of tv, or get too much or too little sleep. You might feel stuck, frustrated, or like something is missing. Or maybe you are a parent who feels worried and unsure about how to help a child or adolescent who is struggling?

I consider it such an honor to journey alongside people as they work towards wholeness and hope. Through consistent patience and exploration, new pathways are formed in our minds as we find ourselves viewing the past, present, and future in new ways. I would love to join you in your process. If you want to share your story and your goals, I can hold space for you; help you learn about yourself, your patterns, and your scripts; examine your choices with you to determine how they help and hurt you based on your values; and utilize EMDR therapy to address trauma and other distressing experiences.

If you are hoping to rediscover joy, overcome anxiety, or work through a relationship that feels really hard, I can help. My years of experience have shown me first hand that many of us are in desperate need of a safe space to feel seen, heard, and understood. I utilize a trauma informed approach, including EMDR and parts work. I do not believe that one therapy approach is the best for everyone. We will work together to navigate your unique therapy journey, identifying resources that you already have within you and learning new tools along the way.

I specialize in attachment based relationship challenges and complex trauma. In addition to those specialities, I support clients who are challenged with depression, anxiety, general stress, and the emotional aspects related to change. I encourage those I work with to think about all areas of wellness including: social, emotional, mental, & physical well-being. I believe it is necessary first to heal from harm done in the past and have an open mind for the future.

I have lived experience with neurodivergence, depression, anxiety, and being in a plus sized body. I have experience working with the above as well as being trained in working with clients with BPD and clients who just feel like they need a safe space to discuss day to day life stressors. I stress to my clients that therapy is for everyone and there is no such thing as a "trauma olympics" where something is better or worse than others! I work with clients age 6+.

Hello! Finding a great therapist can be difficult for myriad reasons. When you aren't certain about what to do next, connecting with a professional who brings experience, training and compassion can be just what you need. My favorite clients are queer and/or neurodivergent, struggling with adjusting to parenthood, are highly sensitive people (HSPs), or are coping with life transitions. I also love working with caregivers of older adults as their work is so important, but so undervalued by many, it seems. I help my clients feel understood, validated, and attended to.

Female Therapists

Does it matter what gender my therapist is?

In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.

Should I see a female therapist?

Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?

Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?

It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
