I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified EMDR Therapist (1 out of 5 in the Lehigh Valley).
I know how infuriating it can be to find a therapist you can connect with, as I have personally fired 6 out of 7 of my own therapists. It’s important to note that I’m not your “typical therapist” (I dye my hair bright colors, will curse with you during sessions, and actively compete in powerlifting).

MTC offers EMDR, Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD, Functional Family Therapy (for which the owner of MTC is an International trainer and consultant), Hypnotherapy, Gottman couples counseling, Imago Therapy, Triple P for parenting needs, ABA for ADHD, ASD and CBT.
Experiencing trauma (little and big T traumas) seems to be a part of everyone's life at some point. I practice EMDR as a complete therapy. What does this mean for you? Through the process of therapy your brain and nervous system can get out of the feedback loop it’s been stuck in from relational patterns, traumas, and roadblocks and you can form the responses that you desire! As a therapist, I’m goal directed, intentional, creative, and warm. Outside of the therapy room—I’m wife, and mom to three tiny humans. I enjoy time with family and friends, working out, DIY projects, and time in my church community. I’ve been a therapist for over 7 years and love walking with clients through the journey of therapy.

I am an EMDR therapist, and often use various techniques that offer a balance of structure and flexibility.
If you're struggling to maintain your basic needs because you're in survival mode, I see you. It can feel impossible to navigate chronic burnout, especially when the path may be blocked by barriers related to chronic illness/pain, executive functioning and sensory needs, and/or unprocessed trauma. These barriers can often be accompanied by shame and guilt, which can make it difficult to connect with others around you. While it may feel overwhelming to find a path to healing, I am here to be a supportive and nonjudgmental co-navigator.

Cognitive Behavioral techniques, mindfulness, Sensori-Motor psychotherapy and EMDR are some of the modalities I am trained to offer clients with this process.
My work as a therapist with individuals and families is guided by two core values; people are the experts in their own lives and everyone has the capacity to be their best self. I use a strengths-based, holistic approach to therapy through a biopsychosocial and trauma-informed lens. Anxiety, depression, and developmental trauma can be stumbling blocks towards achieving one's goals and I am honored to be part of the recovery journey. Since there is no one right way to do therapy, collaboration is key for people to meet their goals.

I also do EMDR for trauma and have recently completed the Intermediate training in Clinical Hypnosis via American Society for Clinical Hypnosis (ASCH).
I specialize in working with people in transition. These transitions have many sources, but we all struggle with them to some degree. In short, crisis provides danger and opportunity. I facilitate growth and change, rather than being reductionistic and focusing solely on symptoms. Together my clients and I collaborate to create new insights, develop new skills and eliminate old, unproductive ways of thinking and behaving.

Using EMDR, somatic resources, parts work, and other skills - my role is to help you rediscover yourself.
Trauma. We all experience it at some point in our lives. It’s that thing that keeps you up at night. The thing that you distract yourself from by working extra hours, scrolling endlessly on Tik-Tok, self-harm, addiction, codependency. We run, fight, freeze, fawn, shut-down. Our bodies are built to adapt to the stress in our lives but what happens when the stress is too much? When we run into obstacles like bullying, abuse, illness, separation, loss, disasters? What happens when there is no one to witness our pain? We forget about the parts of ourselves that are creative, brave, intuitive, funny, smart, kind, gentle, strong.

I strive to provide therapy with the qualities I would want as a client: the ability to provide space to feel comfortable and supported, cultivate mutual respect, suspend judgement while walking side by side through dark moments, and share honest and compassionate feedback. I aim to listen and point out areas of your story that are important to be attentive to. In fact, as your therapist it is my responsibility to act as a detective for your feelings, thoughts, ideas, and emotions. These qualities have shaped my areas of specialization, including EMDR for trauma as well as general therapy for anxiety, depression, and grief/loss.

Are your relationships stressing you out? Do you find yourself walking on eggshells, afraid to tell people no? Do you find yourself saying yes out of guilt or obligation? I help adult children of emotionally immature parents process childhood wounds and move forward with peace, confidence, and self-compassion.

I like to work with a broad range of clientelle who prefer a straightforward approach. I work with individual clients and at times, host couple/family sessions to assist in the treatment of the individual. I accept many commercial insurances. My waitlist for Pa Medicaid spans over a year in length, so I am NOT accepting new Medicaid referrals. I work with clients exhibiting symptoms of anxiety, depression and trauma. As a US Army Veteran, I have a keen understanding of the military culture and concerns of military personnel and their families not often seen in the private sector.

EMDR Therapists
Who is EMDR for?
EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.
Why do people need EMDR?
People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.
What problems does EMDR treat?
First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.
What happens in EMDR therapy?
First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
