I work with individuals and couples to address a number of concerns including but not limited to infidelity, trauma, addictions, communication issues, anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem.
The process of empowerment through self-discovery was one of the greatest gifts I gave myself and is one of my primary goals as a therapist. I assist clients with discovering strength by working through the emotions and negative experiences that have left them feeling lost, unworthy, and/or defeated. I want clients to know they are not alone and that past or present circumstances do not have to define who they are or who they want to be. Change is not easy, yet within conscious effort, introspection, and clarity, exists the power for clients to direct their lives.

My approach is welcoming to individuals and couples who may be overwhelmed, at complicated points in their lives, facing relationship difficulties, and/or struggling to manage old wounds. Sometimes, therapy looks like problem solving. Other times, it just means talking to someone who gets it. As a therapist, I have found that the best answers - the ones that lead to actual change - come from within. My job as a therapist is to create a space where people can discover these answers.

I provide therapy for anxiety, depression, grief and loss, relational issues, life stressors, and more.
Has anyone suggested that you talk to someone about what you’re dealing with? Are you thinking it might be a good idea to get an outside perspective on things you’re going through? Maybe you’re not sure about this whole “therapy” thing but, part of you wonders if it could help. Do you usually have a handle on things but lately you’re overwhelmed, irritable, and feel like something needs to change? Or, do you just need someone to talk to? Therapy can give you the opportunity to explore what you’re feeling, reflect, learn and grow in a safe, compassionate, and psychologically supportive environment.

My goal as your therapist is to help you understand how your current experience makes sense and from there build a more curious and compassionate self-view to better manage the anxiety and self-criticism you experience.
Whether this is your first time seeking out therapy or you have been in therapy before but are looking for a different approach, you are welcome here. My clients are mainly Gen Z and Millenial women who are highly self-aware and emotionally intelligent, but what they "know" and what they feel don't match. This feels frustrating because society tells us that we should be able to change how we feel by changing our thinking. You've tried that and wish it were that easy. My goal is to help you shift away from surviving, and closer to thriving.

I specialize in treating adults across the lifespan with: Anxiety, Depression, Mood Disorders, Perinatal/Postpartum issues, Eating Disorders, Relationship issues, Trauma, and Self Esteem/Shame, among other issues.
I utilize an embodied and integrated approach to support clients to heal from past wounds and improve current functioning. Often, we need to encounter what we find within us to be deeply unacceptable, painful, and terrifying to be set free and transform. As a compassionate, supportive guide, I am humbled and honored to accompany my clients on this journey.

What are the most common treatments for anxiety?
Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.
How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?
The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.
When should I seek treatment for anxiety?
Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.
How effective is treatment for anxiety?
Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
