I specialize in treating anxiety, trauma, and family relationships. EMDR is one of many tools that I use to help people heal from past experiences and deal with overwhelming emotions. I am a licensed clinical social worker who provides individual and family therapy. I have experience with all ages, from young children to older adults. In addition to therapy, I provide supervision to therapists who are seeking licensure or to those who are licensed but seeking additional support.

I became a psychotherapist because my own therapy and therapist was so incredibly impactful. It is the greatest honor and privilege to bear witness to my clients' lives. I have an egalitarian approach; we partner together to give you the support needed to make whatever changes you are seeking in your life.

My approach to treating is… working off a strength-based philosophy. I look for internal resources and personal strengths that can be pulled from the patient in order to help create empowerment and self-compassion. My approaches are largely emotion centered and relational. I identify individual strengths/areas of resource, challenge disruptive patterns/thought processes, and help replace with skills that acknowledge the rooted pain, while at the same time, encourage stepping outside areas of comfort. I also include sessions for self-exploration, to help clients better understand the whys and how’s of their own internal processes

I believe that psychotherapy is best done as a collaborative process. I have the training and experience and you, the client, bring all you know about yourself and your life. Together, we develop goals, both long and short term, that hopefully will lead to active awareness, emotional relief and behavioral changes.

Planning to expand the practice in 2023; you're welcome to make and inquiry in case I have an opening. Would you like your perspective on life to change and grow in ways that support greater well-being, empowerment, and a sense of balance? Life is constantly changing and presenting challenges. I support people who are willing to look honestly at themselves, learn new skills, and make changes that may initially be scary but, with support and growth of your confidence, changes that are possible. I also work with couples who wish to deepen their relationship, to be more present with one another, and to communicate more effectively.

I have been in practice for over 30 years and developed an expertise in the treatment of depression and anxiety. My training is in cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy, specifically Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and my goal is to work with you to develop skills and strategies to overcome unproductive ways of reacting to life's challenges. I have also worked in a physical rehabilitation setting for many years, where I have focused on neuropsychological assessment and psychological treatment of cognitive and emotional disorders arising from stroke, brain injury and other neurological problems.
