Parenting a child with challenging behaviors can feel like navigating New York City with a map of Chicago. It's confusing, stressful and incredibly lonely. The “tried and true” parenting approaches do not seem to help your child be “less challenging” (and in fact, often make things worse), and the traditional parenting advice from mainstream “experts” feels tone-deaf when it comes to to your experience. I am a licensed Clinical Psychologist in California and Oregon and have been practicing for over 20 years. Therapy is about safety, which encompasses a trusting and non-judgmental environment. This is the biggest asset that you will experience when working with me; safety and unconditional positive regard. I am committed to empowering my clients to navigate their challenges and provide the safe environment to do so. We tend to work with people who have tried many different therapies which failed to adequately improve their brain-related challenges or the benefits of such therapies have plateaued. Thus, this means our clients tend to have fairly complex symptomologies and diagnoses, sometimes they don't even have formal diagnoses due to the unique mixof symptoms. Maybe the client has physical symptoms that their physician cannot explain and possibly says is psychosomatic or due to a history of complex trauma. We also work with children for both neurofeedback and neurobehavioral counseling, which is behavioral counseling based on neurobiology.

I am a mental health therapist who specializes in trauma and addiction issues. I also often work from a family systems theory basis. I have combined experience as a counselor, educator and social worker for over 22 years.
