I have experience and interest in helping individuals learn and identify strategies to manage and reduce phase of life problems, symptoms of depression, stress, anxiety, psychosis, trauma, obsessive-compulsive disorder, barriers which impact self-esteem, cycle of violence, as well as types of abuse and the long term impact of abuse.
November Openings. My name is Dr. Pauline Botchway, and I strongly believe that, as human beings, we have the ability to change and transform our lives through choice. Since no single theory can capture our experiences as human beings, I utilize an integrated approach that allows me to use some aspects of Gestalt, Existential, and Solution Focused, as well as high utilization of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and EMDR. In addition to my community mental health, I am including private practice in my work. My main goal as a clinician is to help and guide individuals to change their lives to improve everyday living.

dental anxiety, fear of flying, dogs), but I can also help with processing trauma and working through depression and/or anxiety.
Sometimes stress gets stored in the body and no matter how much we try to talk ourselves out of it, we still feel stuck. This kind of stress (often tied up with anxiety) benefits from a biological approach, along with traditional talk therapy. I use EMDR and other non-invasive somatic/biological methods in conjunction with talk therapy (i.e. CBT, ACT) to help people build resilience and feel better. I believe that with some tailoring and practice, everyone can learn to rewire their brains and make great strides in creating healthier, happier lives.

Maybe your teen or partner is depressed? Stuck on Internet Porn? Maybe you have somehow been victimized? Feel anxious, or alone? Loss of loved ones? I offer a relationship based, non-judgmental approach informed by tested, evidence-based practices, including CBT and EMDR therapies - neither of which demand medication. EMDR directly targets traumatic or hurtful memories and helps put them "in the past." This has been shown to help with anxiety/fear, panic attacks, nightmares, self-esteem issues and various other symptoms associated with post traumatic stress. CBT further offers you the chance to not be overwhelmed by your experience.

I work with individuals to address struggles with communication, anxiety, panic, relationship problems, codependency, trauma, and PTSD.
Do you find yourself feeling too much and not enough all at once? Do you sometimes feel stuck? Broken? Have you ever asked yourself, “Why can’t I just be normal,” or “What is wrong with me?” Maybe you behave in ways that don’t feel true to yourself for fear of rejection or abandonment, and perhaps you even end up in unhealthy or one-sided relationships. I believe that just by coming to this page there is something fundamentally “right,” not “wrong" with you. Being a human is complicated, messy, and can be painful; I feel honored to have the opportunity to support you through these challenges in a way that fosters healing and growth.

Prior to establishing my 30 year+ practice in Portland, I served as Clinical Director of a tri-county treatment center for traumatized children and adolescents.
Since you are reading this profile, you are likely feeling a need for change. Fortunately, it is unnecessary to live life with fear, confusion, or loneliness. Just because you can't see how to get there doesn't mean it can't be done. I would be honored to walk this path of healing with you. Borrow from my hope and experience that things CAN be different. Whatever block you may be experiencing is simply a signal that your body and mind wants to heal. Together we can interpret those signals and create a healing dialogue.

My philosophy is an eclectic approach based on client needs through a trauma-informed lens, with the understanding that each client’s various identities deserve space in the room.
Neuroscience has taught us that "the mind" is encapsulated not only in the head; it exists throughout the whole body. As a holistic practitioner, I am interested in how you can learn to listen to the wisdom and cues of your inner knowing, beyond just what your thoughts tell you, and mend the relationship between mind/body. We all have the ability to grow and transcend from our past and present wounds and turn them into sources of empowerment and healing. I greet identity work, life transitions, and LGBTQ+ issues with positive psychology and feminist therapy frameworks to aim towards your sense of liberation.

The principles of trauma-informed care, harm reduction, collective liberation, and body sovereignty are my guideposts in this work.
My name is Grace, and I am a white queer woman who works with teens and adults to support them in learning about themselves and healing from past trauma. I specialize in working with LGBTQIA folks and anyone exploring their identity; as well as people of color, disabled/chronically ill folks, and others who face intersecting forms of oppression. My practice is rooted in social justice and anti-racism, and a belief that systemic oppression directly affects our mental health. In our work together, we’ll explore the ways in which systems of power and societal expectations interfere with our right to authenticity and wholeness.

My specialty focuses on depression, anxiety, and trauma ages 14 and up.
The therapeutic relationship is a very important part of therapy. Often times clients explore their relational attachments, bonds and experiences through their relationship with their therapist. I aim to provide a safe and comfortable environment. I believe everyone can achieve an optimum state of health. Often times humans do not change until facing a crisis, or having suffered. Together we can help you to learn more about who you are and how you relate to the world around you and what may need to change. We all need to be comfortable with change as “the only thing that is constant is change” (philosopher Heraclitus)

I have experience treating PTSD, abuse, grief and loss, depression, anxiety, women’s issues, religious trauma and faith transitions, parenting challenges, and addiction.
My name is Megan, and I am accepting new clients in Oregon. Taking those first steps towards self-improvement is not always easy and finding the right therapist can sometimes feel overwhelming. It is my goal to help you feel more comfortable as you embark on the journey. Creating a safe, accepting, and non-judgmental space where hope, healing, and self-discovery can flourish is what drives my work. I believe that the therapeutic process is different for each unique individual and there is not a one size fits all approach.

I assist youth and families to build and maintain strong relationships. I teach parents skills to help their children both change challenging behavior and shift to a place of deep healing and connection. I address family of origin issues with parents allowing them to cope with their past, so that they can remain responsive, engaged and calm during stressful times. I assist in working through trauma coming from child abuse, neglect, sexual assault, and violence. I assist those going through stages of grief: helping them learn how to live beyond the loss.

I have seen how early life trauma can interfere with a deep sense of self and belonging.
Many of us are waking up to the effects of generational trauma. You may have a history that has included family members with addictions, severe mental illness or anger problems. It could be a new realization leading to a hunger to to break free and do life differently. Or it may be you've been aware of the effects of familial patterns for some time and have worked hard to create a life that goes in a better direction. Despite all the work, it can still be possible to get stuck from time to time. I hope to walk beside you as you break the cycles, find your path and create the life where you belong.
