I specialize in individual therapy which focuses on anxiety, depression, and trauma. My work typically centers around assisting the client to enhance their own awareness capabilities, processing traumatic experiences, exploring core beliefs derived from these experiences, and collaboratively working to undo false narratives which have created the anxiety and mood symptoms bringing them into treatment.

Talk therapy is a brave endeavor and can be extremely creative and rewarding. The most important part of my approach is creating an effective working partnership with you, so that you can get the most out of therapy. Ongoing distress in our lives can bring us to therapy, and with good work can lead us to both acceptance and long-term psychological flexibility and wellness. Many people find this path to be an exciting and generative one. It can even be fun at times. With my training from around the world, I specialize in creating unique clinical formulations to aid clients in fostering shifts in their lives.

When mental health challenges like depression, anxiety, or trauma arise, we can become consumed by painful thoughts and emotions. We might feel misunderstood, different, and too scared to share what we're experiencing for fear of judgment—even from those closest to us. As isolation deepens, these emotions grow stronger, making it harder to seek help. We may pull away from activities that once brought joy, feeling stuck and hopeless, and begin to wonder if there’s something "wrong" with us, searching for a way to “fix” what's happening inside.

I believe in developing a supportive and collaborative environment where my clients feel empowered, this allows them to move beyond their limitations and discover greater life satisfaction.

My primary focus is couple therapy. I am a trained Certified EFT Therapist. EFT stands for Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples and is far and away the best treatment for couples. I have successfully treated couples who struggled with communication issues, infidelity, childhood trauma, attachment concerns, and emotional disconnect. As an EFT therapist I have worked with many couples in which one of the partners has ADHD. I also treat trauma using EMDR therapy with individuals and in the couple setting.

My life journey has profoundly influenced my dedication to empowering individuals on their path to personal growth and fulfillment. I am committed to working collaboratively with people, assisting them in realizing their full potential and facilitating transformative experiences. Often, our lives are marked by patterns rooted in shame and trauma, hindering our ability to embrace authenticity and joy. Unbeknownst to us, we may be navigating the world with a wounded heart. However, recognizing this reality opens the door to hope.

There it is...the all too familiar thought…emotion…or behavior. It continues to search for a solution for what life has brought me. Therapy is a place to gain understanding and insight about making personal change, maybe learn some new ways to manage my emotions or relationships, find purpose in doing the things you do…or want to do.

Currently Taking New Clients! For far too long I worked in a field that gave me little to no gratification. Serendipitously, over the years I spent much of my free time volunteering for numerous causes and discovered that helping others in truly meaningful ways is the work that warms my soul. That is why I am here today offering my expertise to you. Operating from a place of compassion, my role is to gain a thorough understanding of your unique experience and how it's impacted you. I seek to identify ways I can help you alleviate harmful thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, become a happier person, and lead the life you envision.

In my approach, I focus on highlighting our strengths that we can use to achieve personal and/or professional growth. This process can be achieved by intentionally developing skills to be more present in our life and a self-awareness of patterns that may be ineffective for the life we want to lead. I also recognize the strength it takes to seek change and appreciate how the process can look different for everyone.

My father worked as a caseworker in New York and my mother is a registered nurse. Is it any wonder that I often attract caring clients seeking to balance stress (sometimes PTSD) as they strive to assist others. Many of my clients are caregivers- looking after family members, counselors, pastoral care workers, shamanic practitioners or healers. The rest tend to be people seeking tools to make sense out of their lives and their experiences. I provide a calm port in the storm of life. Care For The Caregiver is a place to receive support while learning to reach your goals.

I like helping individual clients with depression, communication, self-esteem, and academic/career issues. Most of the clients I work with had been thinking about getting help for a long time, but either wanted to try and deal with it themselves or thought counseling was only for other people. I know talking about mental health still carries a stigma for some and I respect the courage of everyone who moves past that stigma to enter my office.

What makes you unique? Why are you here, and why do you feel clarity and confidence with some people (and in certain situations) and with others it's a struggle? No, there's nothing 'wrong' with you, and I know how it can feel that way, especially when things get challenging. My specialty is showing you what's "right" about you and offering grounded, practical tools you can use right away to transform your inner world and your outer results with loved ones and on the job.
