I specialize in working with adults and children who experience trauma. Trauma can interrupt healthy development in the brain and body, particularly during formative years. I can assess, diagnose, and intervene with mental health disorders using evidence based treatment plans that target my client's unique goals. Risk assessment is another important aspect of trauma-informed care for clients with urges to harm themselves or others. I may involve my team of professional colleagues in treatment as needed, including more qualified LPCs, a skills trainer, and a yoga & movement instructor.

Healing crises occur throughout our lives and are often brought forth in times of transition and loss. I believe these times provide opportunities for development in our relationships with others and ourselves. Therapy is a healthy way of working through crisis and transition. I have worked for over 10 years with adults and children who are healing from recent and past traumas and/or loss. My training and experience includes working with sexual traumas, domestic violence, substance dependence, and co-dependency issuses. I focus on helping clients tell their stories and identify beliefs and coping strategies that are unhelpful.

I am a bilingual (English/Spanish) and bi-cultural licensed clinical social worker in Tigard, Oregon. I have many years of experience working with children and families. My areas of expertise include: sexual abuse cases, early childhood mental health, working with children and families exposed to traumatic events and family therapy. I like to facilitate groups for trauma survivors and also to work with adult survivors of sexual abuse. I particularly enjoy working with Latino families. I am very interested in reunification cases particularly working with children and families involved in the child welfare system.

I've been helping people with the "hard stuff" for a long time. I decided to work in the field of domestic violence in 1998 by way of intervention programs for both men and women who were convicted of an assault or who self identified as wanting to end their use of abuse with their loved ones. I opened my own business in 2000 specializing in anger management, domestic violence, parent education for children and teens, co-parenting education, and a program for parents who were convicted of abuse or neglect. I became a mediator in 2014 and I have conducted thousands of child custody, parenting plan, and family conflict mediations.

Hi, I'm Rinny (she/they)! I am currently working with couples and non-traditional relationships on a wide range of issues including improving healthy communication, sex therapy, intimacy discrepancies, infidelity, identity exploration, systemic racism and marginalization, trauma, abuse, grief, gender affirming services, and polyamory/ENM. From my perspective, identity work is heavily relational, therefore, I bring this approach into my work as I seek to better understand who you are and who you hope to become within and outside of your relationships.
