I offer goal directed treatment through EFT, EMDR, and CBT.
Typically my clients reach out to me because of feelings of sadness, worry, and disconnection in important relationships. My clients are often people who describe themselves as being “do-ers”, goal oriented people who have difficulty slowing down to understand their internal world and why they do what they do. Many of my clients are medical professionals, first responders, and veterans who have worked hard to train themselves to manage their emotional reactions because of the need to focus and perform in their work setting.

My therapeutic approach focuses on strengths and incorporates aspects of mindfulness, and cognitive and dialectical behavior therapy to build confidence in decisions and recognize patterns that contribute to positive life outcomes and those that are contributing to challenges.
My primary focus as a counselor is working with individuals in transitionary phases of their lives to regulate anxiety, depression and trauma responses that can occur with change and other life stressors. As a mental health counselor, I strive to facilitate awareness of the mind-body connection. The impact of everyday stressors and past experiences on physical and emotional health is often overlooked. Identifying thought patterns and behaviors that impact your interactions in the world and overall feelings about self can help you to work toward living your authentic life in contentment and joy.

I utilize a combination of therapies: EMDR, CBT, DBT, Ego-state, Attachment-focused and Mindfulness-based approaches.
We all experience emotional pain at times. It arises when we are lacking safety, security, support or a sense that we have the ability to live the life we desire. Sometimes this is short-lived, other times it is significant and has a lasting impact on us, leaving us feeling stuck and triggered no matter what we do. If this is your case, maybe I can help. I have over 16 years experience in evidenced-based, trauma-informed therapies that help treat issues like PTSD, anxiety, depression, relationship problems and stress. My goal is to address the root issue so that your time spent in therapy is most transformative and beneficial.

My approach to therapy includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Internal Family Systems Theory.
With willingness, therapy can be a transformative experience. It takes courage to seek help and make changes, and finding out where to begin can be overwhelming. I work with clients at their pace to help identify and reconnect with the things most important to them. I find it most effective to focus on an individual’s strengths in order to gain more insight into the areas that may be causing distress. One of the many benefits of therapy is self- awareness on a deeper level which can help clients improve the relationships between themselves and others.

I specialize in ERP, a form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) that is evidence-based and used to treat Anxiety Disorders and OCD.
This “being human thing” is hard, and often feels uncomfortable. Sometimes the “uncomfortable” is experienced internally, sometimes externally, and sometimes both. This is a result of our actual or perceived response to the past, present, or future. Our work together will be focused on helping you to be “uncomfortable on purpose,” through identifying your values, increasing your capacity to tolerate uncertainty, processing what has maintained your current ways of living, and learning how to engage with yourself and others in a way that makes this “being human thing” a little bit easier.

Thank you for considering me for therapy! I believe that behind every issue I treat is a person worthy of healing with their own story to tell. I am here to help whether your problems stem from ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Oppositional Defiance Disorder, behavioral addictions (such as technology/video games) or even just the problems that life throws at you such as sports performance anxieties, men's issues, academic concerns, or health and wellness challenges. Your problems do not define you.

While I utilize a variety of evidence-based techniques to address the individual needs of clients, my work often draws on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Client-Centered Therapy, Experiential approaches, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR).
Sometimes we get stuck. We’ve done everything we know to help ourselves, then comes a time when we need some extra support to figure out the rest. Counseling can be a place to gain clarity about what you're going through and learn how to be your most true and thriving self. I often support individuals and families struggling with anxiety, anger, relationship problems, depression, trauma, and transitions in their lives.
