I'm a mental health counselor and my passion is helping people, getting to know people, and caring about people. I do my best to learn what the needs are of each of my clients so I can personalize each therapeutic approach. I enjoy working with children of all ages and have a special focus on childhood trauma and victims of abuse. The vast majority of my work has been serving people with trauma of all ages and communities.

As a neurodivergent person, I understand firsthand the challenges of navigating our world. The constant ebb and flow of mental health, compounded by external pressures, can be incredibly overwhelming and defeating. I know how deeply activating relationships with others can be and how painful it can be to be vulnerable. I have also witnessed the deeply transformative power that comes from having support, access to resources, introspection, and time to process with another person.

I believe that the experiences we go through in life shape us, the people around us impact us, and I believe that the process of growing is a life long journey. I practice psychodynamic therapy informed by person centered ways of relating. That’s just a fancy way to say that I think your life impacts who you are, how you behave and feel, and that an empathetic, supportive relationship is the best place to work on the change you want to see.

I work with teens and adults particularly around trauma and more severe symptoms of anxiety and depression. I also work with those with chronic illness, body image issues, gender questions, and neurodivergence. I have a particular affinity for people who have endured trauma and who feel like they are outsiders. I pride myself in being culturally sensitive and welcoming to all, and someone who works as part of the LGBTQIA+ community. I'm an approved clinical supervisor in Oregon.

I focus on building a therapeutic alliance with clients. It is through this alliance we can uncover the unconscious roots and meanings of distressing feelings, behaviors and thoughts. My approach also includes an understanding of the various ways people experience trauma, including social and economic disenfranchisement.

There is a Japanese art form that I love called Kintsugi, where one fixes the broken pot with gold or silver to highlight where it was once broken and thus rendering it beautiful again. Trauma and addiction make us feel like we are broken inside, I work with you to apply your gold or silver highlights.

"What are you?" was a question I quickly became accustomed to growing up in the Pacific Northwest. With roots in Chamoru, Irish and Armenian heritage, there is no box for me to check. This question has been a lifelong journey in understanding who I am in the context of others, and more importantly how I define myself. I hope to work with others who are embarking on their own cultural journey and are seeking deeper answers to questions about themselves.

Our group practice was founded with shared passion for helping folks who have experienced trauma and/or difficult childhood experiences to heal, reconnect to a sense of safety within themselves, and find the freedom to pursue a meaningful life without being stuck in the past. We are also interested and passionate about helping folks navigate trauma, OCD, anxiety disorders, and attachment difficulties that often show up in our closest relationships.

I am acutely aware of how many people are suffering deeply now – people who are strong, intelligent, and creative, and yet find themselves struggling within their lives and disbelieving in themselves. Many of our psychological and emotional problems have been worsened over time by systemic and political practices, policies and institutions which also affect us spiritually. Because these systems aren’t self-aware, they don’t change quickly, and since they are part of the cause of our problems, they can’t help us heal. I listen to understand how to heal.
