The techniques I use, primarily AEDP, are designed to provide clients with a new perspective on, and experience with, the issues they are looking to resolve.
It's time to focus on you. When you put yourself last on the list, and stop responding to your own needs, feelings of unhappiness and disconnection often follow. You don't have to struggle with these feelings alone. When working with me, clients describe having a new therapeutic experience - one in which they see genuine and positive change manifest in themselves and their lives.

Using mindfulness and experiential approaches drawn from attachment theory, Hakomi, AEDP, trauma theory, and emotion-focused therapy, I help you to identify and untangle old patterns of behavior and to process unhelpful beliefs and old or ongoing wounding or trauma.
Hi, I am glad you are here. Whether you are looking for relief from anxiety or depression, or navigating grief, trauma, a challenging relationship, or other difficult life circumstances, it is so good that you are seeking support. Having support is one of the most important things you can do to help yourself to heal. In working together, I endeavor to meet you where you are with warmth, acceptance, and respect to create a healing relationship with you that provides a safe space to move towards new experiences of trust, belonging, and authentic fulfillment.

I enjoy helping move despair to vitality, and am influenced by Fosha's Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy and Gendlin's focusing awareness, or felt sensing.
Sometimes we can be dealt a lot of blows or disappointments in life and it's tough slogging though it alone. I welcome working with those who are facing transitions or relationship difficulties, have depression and/or anxiety, among other life issues. Sometimes family issues and past wounds can become a focus of treatment. Receiving therapeutic support during these critical moments can make a positive and lasting difference.

I have received training in interventions ( Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy, Neuroaffective Relational Model) that work in present time to support and repair traumatic experiences, explore identity, and strengthen resiliency.
I support my clients to find safety, rest, and joy within themselves, often in the midst of very challenging circumstances. I work with folks healing from trauma – especially childhood, religious, sexual, and relational traumas – those exploring their authentic identities, and those who want support in life transitions large and small. I believe that you are the expert of your own experience. Together we will create a space where you can explore deeper layers of your experience, to understand, and potentially reframe, strategies that no longer serve you, and to take steps towards a richer connection with yourself and others.

Calling neurodivergent people, weirdos, feelers, people who speak to the wind, the ones who are also very logical, people who speak in noises and movement. Queer people, trans people, and all the other magical people who fall under LGBTQIA identities. The ones who seek to understand the wildest and hardest parts of being a human, the philosophers, the ones who speak to plants, etc. AND also humans who just wanna talk to someone who is also a human. I welcome you to reach out.

I draw from Gestalt therapy, attachment theory, AEDP, and Internal Family Systems.
As a trauma-informed, somatic, and relational therapist, I approach therapy with a lot of curiosity, gentleness, and eagerness to explore what is happening for clients in the present moment. I often encourage clients to check in with the sensations in their bodies and may highlight patterns I notice. I strive to create a non-judgmental space where clients can access and explore their emotions and experiences, enabling a deeper connection to themselves and others. I also like to bring (appropriate) humor into sessions. I believe that building a strong therapeutic relationship is a key part of the process!

My work is based on person-centered therapy, as well as AEDP, an experiental, body-focused model of psychotherapy.
I see my role as a counselor as providing empathy, unconditional acceptance, and genuineness to create a space that you, the client, can use for self-exploration and holistic growth. Another part of my role is helping to focus the counseling session on your inner experience to increase your awareness of your values, emotions, and ways of relating to others. A typical counseling session involves the client exploring their moment-to-moment inner experience, and me facilitating this exploration by asking questions, offering my observations, and reflecting back what I am hearing.

Psychodynamic, Jungian, existential, IFS, and AEDP approaches give me a framework for listening and making sense of what I hear.
In psychotherapy, we work together to understand the meaning of your symptoms and the sources of your pain. The therapeutic process is in large part a careful encounter with the past in the hope of getting beyond what happened to you and discovering who you are apart from your history. It also includes the exploration of your beliefs, emotions, protective strategies, recurring patterns, and relationship dynamics. From a stance of compassion and curiosity, we put words to your experience and what has been unsayable before.

I am trained in EMDR, AEDP, and PACT.
Whether this is your first time seeking therapy or you are coming back to the work, finding a therapist you connect with is key. When you feel the right fit, it is amazing what is possible on the healing journey. Problems start to feel more manageable and creativity opens up, allowing you to lean in and work toward the change you want to see happen. I deeply value both humor and seriousness to the therapeutic relationship. I believe that we are all wired to move toward health; sometimes we need help and guidance along the way to clear out past trauma, anxiety, relationship problems, depression.

AEDP Therapists

Who is AEDP therapy for?

Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP) is for adults who have experienced emotional pain in the past that, because it has not been adequately addressed and processed, interferes with current functioning. The problems might manifest in a number of different ways, from excessive anger to relationship difficulties to PTSD to eating disorders, poor self-esteem, and depression. They may also be accompanied by physiological symptoms. AEDP helps people accept and digest challenging emotional experiences.

Why do people need AEDP?

People need AEDP as a way to manage distressing emotions—including anger, shame, and guilt—that in some way hamper the ability to function and form satisfying relationships in the present. The therapist-client relationship is believed to provide corrective emotional and relational experiences that facilitate positive changes in brain function, forge pathways for processing traumatic experiences, and allow resolution of emotional pain.

What happens in AEDP therapy?

Once individuals have established a strong bond with the AEDP therapist and the therapist has established a safe and secure environment, clients are encouraged to explore their most painful emotional experiences. They may be asked to pay attention to disquieting body sensations as well as to psychological discomfort. Individuals learn how to process emotions, rather than avoid them. Through the strength of the therapist-client bond, each session is intended to provide a powerful positive experience for individuals, enabling growth.

What problems does AEDP treat?

AEDP is intended to treat the unprocessed emotional pain caused by earlier distressing experiences, which commonly includes behavioral avoidance of current situations and experiences for fear that they will reactivate painful feelings. Emotional pain and avoidant behavior play a role in a wide array of mental health conditions, which is why AEDP is applied to the treatment of a range of disorders including depression, anxiety, PTSD, relationship difficulties, and eating disorders.
