My practice provides bilingual/bicultural mental health counseling with a focus in working with Latinx adults and teens with a history of trauma. I have been practicing psychotherapy in Portland, Oregon for over thirty years. Initially trained as a child and family therapist in the psychodynamic tradition at the University of Michigan, I have since continued to broaden and deepen my experience and skills through further training in and study of Gestalt therapy theory, contemporary psychoanalysis, Collaborative Couple Therapy, anthroposophy, and hatha yoga. My ideal client is motivated to partner with me in a plan of healing and change. He/She is receptive to natural methods of healing which include stress management and nutritional awareness. This client has some awareness into the problems and is eager for more insight. Getting stuck in the middle of chaos, makes it hard to find the next move. It is not possible to solve a problem without rising above it. The LifeSTAR program is a virtual treatment program to help individuals who struggle with sexual addiction and other unwanted sexually compulsive behaviors. Each phase builds on the previous one for a long-term and comprehensive approach to eliminating compulsive sexual behaviors. The LifeSTAR program is a nationally recognized treatment program that is run by licensed therapists who are trained in sexual addiction recovery. Participants receive workbooks and other materials to help them in their recovery work. The phases are designed to gently uncover and heal those patterns that create and maintain addictive behaviors.
