I create a safe, non-judgmental space for children/adolescents/young adults and their families through deep listening and observation, forming an authentic, trusting, compassionate relationship where understanding and healing can begin by processing difficult experiences, thoughts, or behaviors. I take a whole-brain, whole-body approach to customize a treatment plan for each client, building upon their strengths and unique gifts. Utilizing Play, Art, Nature and Book Therapy, as well as YogaCalm and Collaborative Problem Solving, my goal is to have a calm, grounded client that finds joy and can set goals to pursue their dreams.

I believe and have found that deep healing work is best achieved when we invite the spirit into (and even leading) the process. I also have expertise in working with individuals looking to recover from relational abuse, be that familial, work related, or from a romantic partner.

My name is Margaret McGuire. I am licensed in Oregon and California. My office is located in Canby, OR. My training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), bring therapy that is evidence based. ART provides rapid relief from intrusive memories and sensations by incorporating effective rapid eye movements. CBT focuses on changing negative thought patterns. I believe my many years of experience and compassionate approach will help you make the needed changes you are seeking. I can also offer a faith based perspective.

Kids and teens have difficult and confusing things happen and need a space to process so they can move forward with freedom, confidence, and hope. We keep this in mind as combine various research based methods such as play therapy, sand tray therapy, wilderness therapy and interactive feedback to create a personalized intentional experience that is engaging, fun, and healing.
