In therapy, I firmly believe in tailoring my approach to meet the unique needs and goals of each individual client, couple, or family. I take into consideration your personal beliefs about therapy, as well as the specific issues you are facing. Some of the theories I have worked with include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Art Therapy, Client Centered Therapy, Family Systems Approach, and Solution Focused Therapy.

All adolescents and children want to be loved and accepted for who they are. Every child and adolescent thrive to please. For them to achieve these goals they need to be nurtured, taught, feel safe and secure in their homes and most importantly they need to know they are wanted and loved. They also need to know that what they do and who they are matters to those who matter to them.

Emotional connection is crucial for thriving and satisfying relationships. Shame and trauma can keep us stuck in negative cycles of thought and behavior. I work with individuals, couples, families, and groups within the context of their current and prior relationships. I primarily employ Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Restoration Therapy (RT) techniques.

I work with clients from a systematic approach. This approach allows clients to identify dysfunctional patterns of communication and other behaviors. This approach also aims to treat the underlying issues rather than solely focusing on the problem itself. I utilize a reality-based approach to treatment by using therapies that help clients establish greater control over their lives while enhancing the ability to build meaningful and effective relationships. My main goal is to provide a therapeutic environment where the clients can learn to focus on thoughts and behaviors as well as learning new adaptive experiences.

Welcome! I see children (4 years and older) adults, parents and families. I am a compassionate, heart-centered therapist. I practice from a holistic and integrative perspective, blending neuroscience, somatic/body-based methods and cognitive-behavioral therapy. I am a marriage and family therapist who is focused on how a person interacts with those in their family and community groups. I believe that all people are inter-connected and problems are healed through connection with one's self and others. I welcome children, individuals, couples, and families dealing with relationship conflicts, parenting, depression, anxiety, trauma, life stress & balance, developing sexual health, or personal identity. I was a teacher for many years and welcome children ages 3 and up for play therapy to help them communicate their inner experiences as they learn new skills and practice new ways of coping.

I specialize in youth/adolescents and younger adults, particularly those with Anxiety, AD/HD, and/or Depression, or just life challenges. I do individual and family therapy, depending on the needs. I work with younger adults who have struggles with failure to launch, college coping struggles, or adults struggling with Anxiety, Depression, and/or AD/HD. Also, if you are having struggles with parenting or helping your child with their struggles; I have specialized in working in these areas for over 15 years.
