Whether you are looking for in person sessions or online therapy sessions, we can find something that works for you.
Laughter & Genuine. Two words that describe me… As I say “I am who I am” or others might say “down to earth.” Whether you're navigating relationship issues, anxiety, depression, facing career crossroads, or seeking to improve your mental well-being, my goal is to create an easy and genuine space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings. Similar to a psychologist, a mental health counselor is trained in theory and practice of mental health disorders, treatments and interventions.

I believe that the practice of being human is an incredibly complex, difficult, amazingly messy and yet wonderfully beautiful process. While life can be complicated and painful, it can also be rewarding and full of joy. However, when we are in one state it is often hard to even imagine the other. Therapy can be a safe and supportive place in which to reconcile the difference and to learn the relationship between the two. We can often muddle through the difficulties on our own but sometimes it helps to have someone objective, compassionate and skilled to help us through.

I believe therapy is a partnership between the therapist and the client. Therefore, it is important for me to exercise collaborative problem solving as an approach to build and form a positive therapeutic relationship and alliance with the individuals that I serve. I am trained in using several modalities and treatment approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused treatment, Motivational interviewing, Collaborative Problem Solving, and Person-Centered Therapy.

Raising healthy and happy children with ADHD can be a big job, but the good news is that you do not have to do it alone. There is a lot that can be done to help! ADHD is a complex neurodevelopmental condition that impacts each child differently. ADHD has little to do with how "smart" your child might be, but it has a lot to do with your child's ability to regulate their attention, mood, and behaviors. When symptoms of ADHD lead to lower self-esteem, mental health concerns, behavioral challenges, or academic struggles, it is a good time to seek professional help.

Now Accepting New Clients! Clients are distressed - sometimes they know why and sometimes they don't. The journey starts when asked what is bothering them the most, and there is the starting point. Sometimes these thoughts in error are so deeply embedded -we don't even see them for what they are - and what they are doing to us. In therapy we reframe these thoughts - but first one needs to become aware of them. The journey together includes identifying their strengths, options available to them, and find coping skills or solutions that work for them. The goal is to be free from constant distress.

If you're working to navigate the intersection of human existence and mental health, you deserve a space to show up authentically and without judgment. I practice from an anti-colonial and transformative justice lens with the knowledge that systemic barriers can dramatically impact the therapeutic process. My lived experience informs my interest in working with the LGBTQIA+ community, ADHD, substance use, adoption (adoptees and/or family members), interpersonal/attachment trauma, and anxiety/depression.

I originally chose to work in this field because I wanted to help women who had experienced relationship problems including domestic violence or sexual assault. I wanted to help them feel empowered again! I still feel this way. I really love working with adults who are ready for therapy; this means having the ability to look at themselves in a reflective way. I have worked with men however, I think I am a better fit for female clients. I have worked as a therapist for a few years now and do see clients who present with a variety of mental health concerns, not just the ones noted above.

Counseling is a highly personal experience. With hundreds of counselor profiles online, each sounding very similar, how do you choose the counselor who is right for you and your situation? Choose several that meet your criteria of insurance, services provided and issues addressed. Then call and interview them. Within the first few minutes you may be able to discern who is a good fit.

Humor. You may feel stuck, uncertain or nervous about your life right now. While I take this very serious I find that people enjoy being able to talk to a "real" person. From what I hear I'm "real" largely because of my sense of humor. The goal is not to have fun but to find your healthy self. I just believe that being a good clinician doesn't mean you have to be "clinical". Sometimes laughter is the best medicine, or if nothing else, a great vehicle! Let's roll up our sleeves and move forward toward getting better.

Excited. Persistent. Results oriented and good sense of humor. That's me! You’re not alone when you say, “I really don’t want to get out of bed today, just a little while longer,” as you pull the covers over your head. Today feels gray, you feel overwhelmed, even numb and the nagging “duties” of the day pull at your attention, one after another. You want to scream and hide under a rock to make it all go away for a minute, but you open your eyes to see the list of “should’s” just get longer. And worse yet, you feel alone in all of it.
