I utilize psychoeducation, mindfulness, acceptance, and Mind-Body Bridging to facilitate insight and change.
Accepting New BCBS, Aetna, Providence, and PacificSource Commercial (not through OHP) in OREGON. Finding a therapist can be a hassle. Keep going. Reach out via email and we can do a consult to see if it is a good fit. I help people identify their values and the aspects of life worth suffering for. When we can accept and allow discomfort, we can live a meaningful life now, as opposed to waiting until we feel "better." I like this quote as a reminder - The cave you fear to enter holds the treasure you seek.

These underlying beliefs affect how we think, feel, and act.
Are you ready to experience change in your life? Are you struggling in your relationships or feel like you could be more satisfied with life? Maybe past events or patterns of behavior are contributing to the issues you are experiencing? It's important to find a clinician that you can connect with, so you feel safe and confident in moving forward towards your goals. I would be honored to be a part of your journey towards healing and restoration.

Sometimes a sense of depression can be an alert to a spiritual emptiness or exhaustion that does not benefit from being pathologized or vilified as something "wrong" with you. It can signal an opportunity to release yourself from distractions and limitations that do not serve your deeply held values. If you want to explore your broken heart or disconnection in a holistic way, I invite you to begin the conversation to discover its deeper purpose. I tend to work from a psychodynamic approach, taking time to explore an individual's life experiences and assessing how those experiences have shaped current beliefs.

If you are looking for a therapist, it is likely you are ready to experience some change in your life. I provide trauma-focused psychotherapy which can guide you into both transformation and healing. You may be suffering with symptoms of depression, trauma, chronic pain, and anxieties. When you reach out for help, feeling better is an inevitable outcome. Often, when you begin to more mindfully experience your inner world, you may feel more emotional intensity before you feel better. My therapy approach is holistic in the sense that I acknowledge and work with the body, mind, emotions and spirit.

I believe that collaboration between the client and the therapist is a crucial part of the therapeutic process. I draw from a variety of empirically supported treatments, primarily utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy which replaces ineffective patterns of thoughts, emotions, and behaviors with new constructive ones. My approach helps client’s feel “unstuck” and begin to develop new coping skills and tools for change. Lets work together to create ways of thinking and feeling.

I am passionate about providing evidence-based, speciality mental health care to Central Oregon. Evidence-based treatments are those that have undergone rigorous scientific evaluation. They have been well-studied and require empirical data to support their use. My approach to therapy involves building a strong relationship with the client, and engaging them to take an active role in their own treatment. Treatment goals are decided collaboratively and worked on both in session and between sessions with clear goals in mind. I aim to get you back to the things you love in your life, with minimal interference from symptoms.

NOW is the time! Life is getting harder each day and everyone can benefit from talking to a therapist from time to time. I help clients get through major life transitions and make changes to live a more fulfilling life. Some are building relationships as young adults while others are experiencing loss and age related change. I'm trained in Geriatric Mental Health and age related issues. I can help families get their loved ones the care and support they need as a neutral non-related care provider. I'm skilled in helping adults with ADHD to discover new ways of thinking and BEING that can make life easier and more enjoyable for all.

I am also interested in the imp act of nutrition, energy, and spirituality in promoting mental well-being and overall health.
Your feelings are real and imp act your overall health and functioning. Often our greatest hurts arise from the way others have treated us. While it can feel overwhelming to clean up the emotional mess someone else has caused in your life, your body wants to heal and you can reclaim your health and wellness. I specialize in treating trauma and am dedicated to helping others heal from the experiences that often prevent people from achieving the sort of happiness they seek.

Welcome! I am an LPC-Associate trained in a program for Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists with an emphasis in Depth (Jungian-influenced) Psychology through Pacifica Graduate Institute, where I graduated in 2010. While I pull from a variety of theories in my work (Jungian, Rogerian, Attachment, Psychoanalytic, Narrative, and Expressive Arts Therapies), and I use various skills-based approaches in session ( Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Play/Sand tray Therapy, and EMDR), I strongly believe that it is the therapeutic relationship, not the framework utilized, that truly helps people

I also rely heavily on the frameworks of Adaptive Information Processing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Narrative Therapy.
I am currently accepting new clients for Telehealth appointments ONLY. I provide a person-centered approach to help individuals learn about themselves and their thinking and behavioral patterns. I believe that people deserve to sit with a couselor who is accepting and non-judgmental. I use a holistic approach to therapy and believe that a person’s well-being involves their brain, body, and mind. Therapy should support all three of those areas in order to help clients find balance and increased understanding of their own experiences. My goal is to create a safe therapeutic relationship in which clients feel respected and supported.

I'm here to listen, and to share with you the refreshing experience of ACT and nondual mindfulness.
If you're seeking more happiness, peace, and emotional control, I'm sorry but I can't help you. The radical premise of my main modality Acceptance & Commitment Therapy ( ACT) is that you can’t ultimately control your thoughts and feelings. And so instead of struggling to micromanage and optimize your experience, we focus on increasing your vivid sensory connection to the full spectrum of your experience—to deeply feel sadness, anger, fear, and even "negative” self-talk as a rich symphony of somatic and energetic textures. It's not about happiness; it's about building connection with yourself and others in the vibrant flow of now.

How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.

What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?

The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.

Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?

Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.

How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?

A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
