I am passionate about well-being. For some, that might mean healing from trauma or growth into the person you want to become. It might mean understanding how to have a happier, healthy relationship with a parent, partner or child. I believe that every person is worthy of a life that is fully-alive and I am dedicated to partnering with people in their journey toward their vision of well-being. I provide clients with a safe, confidential and affirming environment in which they can explore their story, consider what is meaningful to them, cultivate their personal strengths and apply new insights and growth.

I have been counseling for over twenty years, and working with people is truly my passion. I work primarily with teens, adults, and couples, with an emphasis in working with first responders . I specialize in self-harm behaviors, eating disorders, relationship conflict, depression, anxiety, PTSD, self-esteem, and abuse issues. As a Christian counselor I integrate Biblical truths with psychological principles. I believe it is the job of the counselor to provide a safe, supportive, challenging, and collaborative environment for each client that enters the office. I work with many insurance companies as an out-of-network provider only.

EFT has proven the most effective success rate: 90% of couples who engage in EFT significantly improve their relationship and 70-75% of such couples no longer meet criteria for relationship distress after treatment.
Emotional connection is crucial for thriving and satisfying relationships. Shame and trauma can keep us stuck in negative cycles of thought and behavior. I work with individuals, couples, families, and groups within the context of their current and prior relationships. I primarily employ Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Restoration Therapy (RT) techniques.

Every relationship and individual has different needs, so I tailor my approach to meet your unique goals.
Is your teenager extra moody? Are you and your partner at an impasse and don't know how to move on?I look at issues through the lens of relationships: we impact those around us and they impact us. I believe that we all want and need connection, but relationships and life can make us feel disconnected and hurt. Using EMDR and IFS, I help individuals build a healthy self image and develop coping strategies to handle anxiety and depression. With couples and families, I use restoration therapy to go to the heart of the problem by looking at the emotions that we feel when we are in conflict and define the cycles that we get trapped in.

Now accepting new clients. We are unhappy in our lives today because we have wounds from the past that have been left unhealed. These wounds generate from our basic needs not being met in childhood, abuse, loss of any kind (death of a loved one/friend, job, house, security, relationship, etc.), an unexpected accident, or any other traumas life may throw at you. These unhealed wounds are “jabbing” at you today through maladaptive and numbing behaviors, physical reactions, and emotional reactions.

I have expertise in treating depression, sexual problems and relationship issues.
I believe therapy is about a therapist and a client collaborating together to address mental health issues and or deal with life problems. I believe the client (You) is the expert about themselves concerning strengths, weaknesses, and issues of concern. I believe it is my purpose as a therapist to build a therapeutic relationship which supports the development of your insights, and life skills; including the identification of strengths, and support systems that may aid in the reduction of negative symptoms and improve quality. I do tele-health and I am hoping to be in person by summer 2025 and joined by Mason my therapy dog.

Life can lead us down some pretty confusing paths sometimes, leaving us feeling crazy, unsettled, and totally lost. You don't have to feel like this forever. I work with individuals, couples, and teens who are really going through it - anxiety, panic and stress, relationship issues, PTSD, and unresolved issues that continue to impact current life. Many of my clients are insightful, curious, growth-oriented people who are seeking something beyond traditional therapy. My focus is on helping you to UN-learn all the crap you've taken on over the years that is weighing you down and freeing up whatever it is that seems to be stuck.

Life feels really tough right now (to be honest, maybe it's been tough for a while) and nothing you've tried seems to make a difference. Maybe your relationship with a partner, family member or friend has gone off track, leaving you feeling hurt, misunderstood or alone. Maybe your relationship with yourself is struggling, weighted by negative thoughts and difficult feelings that don't accurately reflect who you are or who you want to be. You're not feeling like your best self, and you're ready to make a change.

Relationship Issues Therapists
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
