Since 2007, I have had the pleasure of beginning to work with adults, children, adolescence, families, veterans, and couples in restoring pleasure in their lives by developing and applying sets of tools and a greater awareness to change habitual patterns that inhibit satisfaction and achievement with relationships and of life goals.
Are you looking to thrive in your relationships and daily life and goals? I believe that the quality of our relationships with those closest to us is critical for fostering a working support system, a place for healing, regular satisfaction, and maintaining our overall wellbeing and goals. I enjoy working with people to help bring relief and empowerment surrounding relational/family issues, sexual abuse, anxiety, emotional stress, and depression. I work with adults individually and their family members in gaining control of situations that dramatically interfere with their daily life. I welcome you in exploring your needs in a consultation and potentially a therapeutic relationship.

I see individuals, couples, and elders in my practice. I have a background in grief therapy, pregnancy and postpartum care, end of life care, and recovery from trauma. I approach therapy in a holistic manner addressing the issues of the mind as well as the body and psyche. With a background in depth psychology, I aim for therapeutic change that reaches beyond behavioral changes to a deeper level by bringing what is not conscious into awareness to establish changes in patterning that are enduing through the lifespan.

My approach is focused on offering and fostering a safe place, a trusting therapeutic relationship, so that you can process life's stressors and learn how to manage and cope with overwhelming emotions and situations.
Are you feeling "stuck" or "shut down"? Perhaps you're feeling like you are on a never-ending "hamster wheel" and are having trouble making sense or finding purpose in your life. Maybe anxiety or depression are preventing you from engaging with yourself and the world in the way that you would like - more connected, more open and less "closed off." I can offer a safe space for you to process these and more life issues you are facing, freeing you from the burden of bearing them alone and perhaps learning new strategies to cope with life's stresses. Normally you're pretty good at overcoming obstacles but are finding it challenging.

My psychological counseling approach is an in depth, psychodynamic, very engaged therapeutic relationship that addresses the body/mind connection both verbally and somatically. It is known in medical research that we hold our feelings in our body and as stress and tension build up, we have problems and symptoms that respond to therapeutic intervention.
When our emotions go unheard, unexpressed, or even unfelt, our symptoms can worsen over time, developing our personal and interpersonal problems and often actual disease and disorders - such as pain, insomnia, muscle tensions, and indigestion.

I specialize in Family Life; couples-marriage and divorce, childbearing years, parenting, teenagers.
Is it time to dive back in the most tender places in yourself, your family, your world? Want to make way for joy, live in the present moment and find your own definition of success? Want to stop participating in the madness and become part of the change that's needed in these times? Do you sometimes wonder if your anxiety, depression, fear, griefs are all yours? Maybe I can help. I believe we are all a bit crazy and that most of what ails us is the result of being part of a collectively sick culture and a dying paradigm of consumer culture, patriarchy and war. There is still beauty, possibility and hope-I can help you remember this.

I work with individuals and couples who are facing this issue.
Sexual addiction (SA) is a hidden addiction. It is a global problem, under-reported, and largely untreated. SA harms relationships, creates relational trauma for partners, and damages trust and intimacy in relationships. Addicts often engage in secrecy and feel shame and guilt about their behavior. Partners often feel betrayed and traumatized by the addicts behavior. Intimacy issues are often an underlying concern for both individuals and for couples. Like other addictions, SA can get progressively worse over the years. If untreated, SA can lead to relationship loss, divorce, job loss. financial problems, and legal problems.

Couples Counseling Therapists
Does couples counseling work?
Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.
When should a couple seek counseling?
Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.
How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?
The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.
How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?
The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
