I have worked in a variety of settings and with humans of all ages and stages. My approach has been described as warm, collaborative, compassionate, and direct when needed. As both a therapist and a person who has received therapy, I do not hide my humanity from my clients. I value being a "human in the room" with my clients, striving to balance acceptance and change while working together to find solutions and cope with life's many challenges. I have trained in various therapeutic modalities and blended these skills to respond to the needs of each client.

It's hard to be a human living in an often dehumanizing and disconnecting society. Many of us are taught from a young age by our families, peer groups, and the systems we grew up in to stuff our feelings down, ignore traumatic things that have happened to us, put on a happy face and be as "normal" as possible, at great personal cost to us. It hurts to have to carry the burden of our emotional pain on our own, with few real outlets of release. I became a therapist because I see therapy as a safe haven where the darker and more painful aspects of life are free to be witnessed with empathy, processed, and healed from.

Therapy is different for everyone but regardless of circumstance, I offer an empathetic and collaborative experience; together we will diligently work toward your own specific goals, needs, and healing. Most of my clients are looking to improve the health of their relationships, learn how to properly set boundaries, address a trauma history that is negatively affecting their daily life, or more generally address symptoms of anxiety and depression as a whole.

My name is Cam and I am eager to work with people who are ready to dig into their experiences, raise awareness of their processes, and heal past and current wounds. I hold several privileged and marginalized identities that inform the way I support people. Existing in an oppressive system, that at times told me I did not belong, has given me the empathy to support people who have felt othered, unseen, underserved, and underrepresented. My hope is to offer a therapeutic relationship that builds your self supports and bridges environmental supports to communities you are a part of or building.

I am here for all you couples that have been struggling to connect, be intimate, feel heard, make decisions and just have healthy communication. I have a toolbox full of techniques to get you on track again so that you can move forward, hand in hand. I also specialize in teen/young adult therapy. I spent 2023/24 working at a high school and unexpectedly loved it. This age group has so many challenges, especially in todays world. The work these teens did with me impressed me, and we were able to connect and make progress together. From trauma to self acceptance, teen therapy is in my wheelhouse.

I believe that you have an inner wisdom that knows what you need to heal and feel whole. I'm glad you are listening to it and seeking support, which we all need. Here are a few things to know about me: Respect, curiosity, compassion, and depth are primary values in my work. My role in the therapy process is collaborator, an active participant by your side, holding space for emotions, listening for themes and patterns, asking questions to encourage self-exploration, and (with curiosity, respect, and perhaps some humor) challenging unhelpful or "stuck" patterns.

Hello, I am a licensed clinical psychologist in MA & OR. Before becoming a psychologist, I worked as a public interest attorney, and as a psychologist, I see the importance of being mindful of social context in the therapy room. I specialize in psychodynamic psychotherapy -an evidence-based treatment- to illuminate how the past and present, external and internal, mutually influence one another. I also integrate tools from other therapy modalities to support the unique needs of each individual.

I work with individuals, couples and families to address relational issues, such as difficulty connecting, decreased intimacy, maladaptive coping skills from childhood attachment, anxiety, depression, and more. I am trained to think systemically, and not pathologically. My work with you will reflect a culturally sensitive approach, and I will utilize Emotionally Focused Therapy and mindfulness techniques. I believe that our attachments from childhood impact our ability to show up in our adult relationships.

My approach to therapy is based on Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT). A core idea in ACT is that trying too hard to get rid of or control our emotions tends to backfire. Instead of trying to get rid of unwanted thoughts and feelings (e.g., anxiety & depression), I will help you learn to react differently to them so that you can keep your focus on living a meaningful and fulfilling life based on what’s important to you. We will work together to set meaningful goals to address your concerns–whether they relate to life transitions, depression, anxiety, body image, grief/loss, job or academic stress, or gender & sexuality.

My style in working with clients is positive and direct. I believe wholeheartedly in the possibility of change, and that the deepest, most powerful change starts on the inside. As our core beliefs, patterns and awareness shifts, life on the outside begins to reflect those internal changes, resulting in greater satisfaction and meaning. My approach involves working in partnership with clients, using the counseling relationship as a catalist on the journey to healing and growth, both individually and in relationships.
