I have a specific focus working with individuals (including children and adolescents/teens), couples and families on issues ranging from eating disorder/body image concerns, depression, anxiety, parenting struggles, couples/pre-marital and marriage counseling and family conflict as it relates to parent/child dynamics.
I believe that every person, no matter the age, has a story to tell about their lives and it takes a tremendous amount of courage to begin to share this story. As your therapist, my hope is to help you find your voice, speak your truth, begin the healing process and ultimately feel a sense of personal accomplishment along the way. I seek to provide you with clarity of thought and peace of mind and heart.

I draw from a multitude of approaches based on what you best respond to and this can include Mindfulness, emotional regulation and interpersonal relationship skills, Interpersonal Nuerobiology (IPNB), and specific modalities from attachment and family systems theories.
My goal is to support the whole person in their desire to identify strengths, address their struggles, and to encourage growth. My relational approach includes helping create a safe place in which you feel like you can start the change process. Issues range from impulsivity, anxiety, emotional regulation, unhealthy coping tools, and difficulties working through trauma. I can assist this process with creating genuine connections to begin addressing emotional regulation tactics, stress reduction, psychoeducation of trauma and the brain, and cognitive restructuring.

I am trained in Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and I frequently draw from Mindfulness-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Attachment Theory, and other trauma-informed practices to meet your specific goals.
Are you ready to begin taking off the masks that you are afraid of living without but know you cannot live within? Together, we will gently remove old and new masks, allowing for the opportunity to get to know your inner Self. The Self is our inner being, our truth, our soul, our anchor, who often gets hidden away due to traumatic experiences, fears, and others’ expectations. Through witnessing how personal challenges - past and present - can impact individuals in distinct ways, I have grown increasingly passionate about helping others reconnect with life through Self-discovery.

Hello prospective parent of a client or client, I am here to help support your home becoming calmer, communication becoming better and increase feelings of contentment and connection between your child/you and your family system.
I love working with kids and teens. Whether its a play therapy session with a seven year old who is learning to build skills around emotional regulation or a teenager exploring their identity as an individual, it is wonderful. I also enjoy supporting kids and teens process life challenges that are impacting their quality of existence so that they can move through them and begin to heal. There is nothing like supporting an individual to see themselves through the light of their strengths and how they can take those strengths out into the world.

I incorporate over 25 years of mind/body experience with studies in couple/ family systems, humanistic psychology and interpersonal neurobiology.
Either working with an individual, couple or family, I come from the perspective that every person is wired for connection and seeks growth to embody their wisdom and wholeness. Individuals can heal from past experiences, move through difficult transitions, and learn to tolerate the stresses of modern life. When we are disconnected from our natural capacity, we can experience life as intolerable and forget our inherent worth. I believe in a collaborative approach to not only find relief from problems, but also to restore health and a sense of internal wholeness.

I consider my own journey of healing from childhood abuse of all kinds, in the context of extreme, rigid religious and family environments, to be one of my most essential tools.
I specialize in treating adult survivors of childhood neglect, abuse, and trauma. I also have special training to work with individuals/partners/couples impacted by sex addiction, and with families affected by ADHD. More recently, I completed training at Integrative Psychiatry Institute to offer Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy (PAT) services, and I'm licensed in Oregon to provide psilocybin facilitation and integration at my licensed psilocybin service center (TryptoniteTrail.Guide). I also provide PAT wrap-around services (screening, prep, and integration) through WellbeingTrailhead.com.

For most people, strong relationships are an important indicator of health and well-being. When we feel stuck in old patterns that no longer serve us, our connection to others suffers too, which can turn up as depression, anxiety, or simply feeling alone and disconnected. By reconnecting with our essential gifts and strengths through the therapy process, we in turn can offer more to family, friends, and community.

I utilize a mindfulness approach and incorporate cbt, dbt, narrative and family systems theory.
Hello, I enjoy working with individuals, couples and families I specialize in treating anxiety and depression. I have experience working with LGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities. I also enjoy working with teenage and younger clients. I see many people who are going through life transitions. When one is going through grief and loss, education challenges, relationship difficulties, a new family member, pain or illness, it can be particularly difficult to cope and particularly beneficial to be in therapy to work through these issues with an unbiased ear. I also specialize in working with individuals who have struggles with chronic pain.

As for my experience, my specialties are working with anxiety, relationship issues (peer, family, and intimate), and infertility.
Making the decision to seek therapy takes courage and finding the right therapist can seem overwhelming. Yes, it's important to find someone with the appropriate credentials and experience, but it's also just as important that you feel comfortable with your therapist. If the match is right, you should feel heard, understood, and respected. I understand the importance of the relationship between a therapist and client, thus I seek to create a safe, trusting, and welcoming environment. I approach therapy from a place of acceptance and non-judgment because I truly want to learn about you, your concerns, and your goals.

My training in psychodynamic psychotherapy, family systems, shame resilience and The Daring Way(tm) will help light the way forward; whether we work individually or alongside your loved ones.
Reaching out for help can be terrifying especially when we're hurting. Throughout the past decade I've worked with University of Houston's Graduate College of Social Work, Menninger Clinic, The Council on Recovery and Montrose Center. I have specific interest in working with men and couples who are looking to deepen intimacy within themselves and in their relationships. As an educator and clinical supervisor, I offer guidance to students as they establish and fine-tune their love for this work. I commit myself to co-creating a therapeutic environment where safety and growth are of top priority. We are in this together.

When you are not understanding each other & when you think your relationships are stuck or damaged, an objective & experienced family coach could help. If going to a family therapy office is any barrier, discreet video telecounseling sessions or phone calls from your home might be the solution to start to understand each other & rebuild your relationships stronger than ever. Individuals who are considering/ready to make personal changes will also find nonjudgmental coaching & support in clarifying & "operationalizing" their goals & understanding themselves better. I bring my therapist experience when older 'scars' are discovered.

Family Therapy

What do family therapists do?

A family therapist facilitates the process of understanding and improving how a family functions. The therapist will help family members develop empathy for one another. They’ll seek to understand existing patterns, misunderstandings, and conflicts that arise, in order to help the family arrive at a realistic, unified understanding and develop the coping skills they need to build stronger relationships.

How long does therapy for families take to work?

Therapy manifests differently in every family; a common time frame is 12 weekly sessions, but some families may see improvement after just a few weeks. Families should discuss their goals with the therapist at the beginning of the process and periodically revisit those goals to assess their progress together.

How can you encourage a family member to attend family therapy?

You can encourage family members to attend therapy by expressing with both love and concern the challenges you see and explaining how a therapist could help the family navigate those challenges together. An outside perspective can help everyone feel heard, get on the same page, and develop new skills. If family members are still hesitant, it may be helpful to emphasize that family therapy is short-term—it won’t last forever.

Is therapy for families effective?

Family therapy can significantly improve family dynamics and relationships. Research suggests that family therapy can help individuals understand their role in the family, communicate and solve problems together, reduce conflict and draw boundaries when necessary, and develop coping skills for stressors, major life changes, and mental or physical illnesses within the family.
