I believe you will find counseling it to be an integral and valuable part of your life journey in seeking out the changes and goals you desire. In sessions, I provide a safe and trusting environment, will empower you to discover unused resources and strengths and will sift through what areas are ineffective and need changing.

When you are triggered, have a trauma response, or in a PTSD loop it is overwhelming; this can be scary, and frustrating. Living life from this place makes it hard to connect with others and to know your sense of self. Challenging patterns become en-grained as feeling powerless leads to loss of hope. My goal with you is to help you acquire skills/tools to feel more embodied and to change the repetitive challenging loop by understanding more deeply the patterns at play. Self-empowerment is essential in our work together as my desire is to help you take your life back with confidence and ease.

I once saw the term "Survival of the Attached"- indeed, no person is an island, we all live in realtionship to others and our partner/spouse/co-parent can be the one person who is most upsetting to us and the one we can experience the deepest healing with. You deserve a secure, thriving, joyful relationship, one were you know exactly how to care for each other! I welcome folks from all walks of life and social locations. I specialize in transnationals: expats, mixed- citizenship status couples/families, "home" seekers, and those straddling many cultures.

Does it feel like you wear a mask in everyday life? As if there’s a disconnect between your true self and what you show to others. Maybe you feel disconnected from yourself and uncertain what it even means to feel connected to your body and aligned with your soul. Do you want to be guided by your intuition but feel it’s clouded by fear and shame? Does a judgmental inner critic control most of your thoughts and you don’t know how to stop it? You have awareness that things need to change and now it’s exploring how to make these changes. As Thich Nhat Hanh said, “Mindfulness must be engaged. Once there is seeing, there must be acting."

I provide a supportive and compassionate environment to give my clients space to process past trauma, current stress, and anxiety about the future. My practice integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Polyvagal Theory, mindfulness training, and Eye Movement Reprocessing and Desensitization (EMDR). Using these frameworks we will examine how past experiences impact your current functioning. We will identify traumatic experiences, dysfunctional thoughts and destructive behavior patterns. Then use EMDR and talk therapy to shift the beliefs that reinforce these habits to relieve psychological and emotional suffering.

Are there old patterns stuck on repeat in your relationship that you’ve tried to change but can’t seem to? Is relationship stress or anxiety in general getting in the way of your feeling satisfied or in flow with your life? Maybe you feel invisible or unappreciated in your relationship. You may have even stopped trying due to repeated failures trying to "fix" what isn't working. The truth is every now and then we need support from someone who has the knowledge, training, and personal experience to help you with something like this. Imagine feeling more confident, calm, and in touch with yourself and in your relationships.

My heartfelt wish is to help you find your voice and connection in the world. There are so many ways we adapt to our circumstances, family, society or culture. To fit in, you might feel like you've lost part of yourself. You may feel isolated, like no one can possibly understand or even accept you. Maybe you grew up in a family affected by addiction, identify as LGBQT, or were raised in a religion that feels unaccepting. Perhaps you're an artist or unemployed and struggling with confidence. Whatever your circumstance, you can find the joy of being you.

I believe that you have an inner wisdom that knows what you need to heal and feel whole. I'm glad you are listening to it and seeking support, which we all need. Here are a few things to know about me: Respect, curiosity, compassion, and depth are primary values in my work. My role in the therapy process is collaborator, an active participant by your side, holding space for emotions, listening for themes and patterns, asking questions to encourage self-exploration, and (with curiosity, respect, and perhaps some humor) challenging unhelpful or "stuck" patterns.

As a Recovery Coach my aim is to meet you where you are, and to let you know that wherever you are is normal. I am able to engage clients outside the confines of traditional clinical practice, providing support where there might currently be gaps in your care. This can look like: Meeting in the community—whether you need support going to a recovery meeting or you want encouragement while eating a meal. Sharing my own experiences with mental health, sobriety, and eating disorder recovery. Long and short-term goal setting, and hands-on support taking steps to achieve those goals.

Healing is a brave and loving pursuit, but that doesn't mean it doesn't feel daunting to turn over the stones of grief and self-denial. We heal and grow not in a straight line, but in a spiral: a movement back & forth, toward & away from similar milestones, from darkness to light, and the path can seem overgrown and difficult to move through. There might be upheaval, pain, and grief, and moments of darkness to sift through and understand. The good news is that no matter what has happened to bring you here, you don't have to navigate this all alone.

We all have experiences of feeling stagnant, imbalanced or disconnected and the path forward can be paved with unsettling uncertainty as you venture into new directions. This can feel like a difficult and isolating journey; yet It is in those instances where we are our most creative and resilient selves. We often underestimate our own strengths and magnify our fears and anxiety, forcing ourselves to limit choices in life and closing ourselves off to change. When we gain new insight into ourselves and how we connect to the world, we can find new ways to find the next step towards a more authentic life and connection to loved ones.

I’m a child psychotherapist that works with parents, children, and adolescents. You might be here because you have questions about your child’s behavior, wish for a more satisfying parent-child relationship, or are overwhelmed from the stresses of parenthood. Perhaps painful memories from your own childhood are impacting your parenting and family. Becoming a parent is one of the most profound transitions in the adult life, and it naturally brings up shifts in our external and internal lives. It’s my honor to support individuals, couples, families, and children through this period and beyond.

I believe that we were all born complete and whole, deserving of lives that are happy and healthy. The experience of being human is full of potential and it is also complicated and sometimes painful. There can be challenges and pitfalls along the way – sometimes making it difficult to flourish or have the lives and relationships we would ideally like. My goal as a therapist is to support my clients through a compassionate exploration of their experiences (present and past), paying close attention to the places where they may feel stuck as well as the places where they feel free.

Online Therapists

Is online therapy as effective as in-person?

Numerous studies suggest that online therapy can be as effective as in-person therapy. However, further research is needed to determine if online therapy provides the same benefits across all client populations. Individuals with severe mental illnesses, such as schizophrenia or bipolar disorder, or those who may benefit from in-person check-ins, like those with eating disorders, may not experience the same level of benefit from online therapy. Nonetheless, the success of online therapy, much like in-person therapy, often hinges on the quality of the therapeutic relationship between the therapist and the client rather than the specific modality of therapy used.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of therapy conducted online?

One of the main advantages of online therapy is its convenience for both clients and therapists. It also allows clients who require specialized therapy to access a wider range of professionals than they could with only in-person sessions. Additionally, online therapy may be a more affordable option in some cases and often offers the same insurance benefits as in-person therapy. However, online therapy may not be suitable for everyone, especially those who value face-to-face interaction with a therapist. Therapists may find it more challenging to assess clients accurately in an online setting due to reduced nonverbal cues on camera. There is also the increased risk that disruptions caused by external factors, such as technology malfunctions, can hinder the therapy session. For these reasons, many therapists offer a "hybrid" therapeutic approach, alternating between seeing clients in-person and online.

Is online therapy suitable for children and adolescents?

Just like with adults, the accessibility and convenience of online therapy can greatly benefit children and adolescents. In fact, children and adolescents may be more accustomed to navigating online platforms than older adults, making online sessions feel more natural for them. Teens might also be interested in using additional online tools, such as therapist-recommended apps, as an adjunct to online therapy sessions. Apps for developing CBT skills, practicing mindfulness exercises, or tracking thoughts and moods can be helpful for teens receiving therapy. However, it's important to note that not all therapeutic modalities are well-suited to online therapy, especially those used with younger children. For example, play therapy, which helps younger children express their emotions, often requires in-person sessions to be fully effective.

Can I receive prescriptions and medication management with online therapy?

The ability for psychiatrists to prescribe medications through online therapy varies based on the medication and the states where the medical professional and client are located. While many prescribing regulations were relaxed during the COVID-19 pandemic, some states still enforce rules, especially concerning controlled substances, which may mandate an in-person visit before prescribing. Generally, however, medical professionals can prescribe non-controlled substances through online therapy sessions just as they do during in-person sessions.
